Abdominal cramping pain during pregnancy

By the second trimester, pregnant women will basically no longer feel nausea and retching, the baby is also stable, the chance of miscarriage is much reduced, and there is no back pain in the late stages. It can be said to be the most comfortable period of the entire pregnancy. However, you should not take chances in the second trimester of pregnancy! Many women have also suffered many risks in the second trimester because of not paying attention. So, what is the reason for abdominal cramps and pain in the second trimester of pregnancy?

What causes abdominal cramps during pregnancy?

In fact, this is a relatively normal physiological phenomenon, which is caused by the continuous expansion of the uterus, which affects the abdomen. Irregular abdominal pain or back pain occurs in the middle and late stages of pregnancy, but the duration is short and the frequency of pain is irregular, about 3-5 times a day. This condition is called "false labor" in late pregnancy. You should pay more attention to rest and not be too tired. In addition, you can do a B-ultrasound to understand the growth and development of the baby. If your stomach aches and also has intermittent tightness, you need to go to the hospital to check if there is any possibility of impending labor. At the same time, if there is vaginal bleeding or excessive water discharge, you need to go to the hospital for examination in time.

What is false labor?

False labor, also known as transitional uterine contraction, is a type of intermittent uterine contraction. Its characteristics are that the time of its occurrence is irregular and its level is sometimes strong and sometimes weak. False labor begins around 6 weeks of pregnancy, but you won't feel it until the second trimester. In the weeks before delivery, the uterine muscles are more sensitive and contractions may be irregular, short-lived, weak, or limited to the lower part of the uterus. It stops after several hours and cannot dilate the cervix, so it is not before delivery and is called false labor. During labor, due to the expansion stimulation of the lower uterus caused by the descending fetal head, "false labor" will occur more and more frequently.

Therefore, there is no need to worry too much about occasional abdominal cramps! However, pregnant mothers should still pay more attention to rest, exercise moderately, avoid lifting objects or reaching high objects, and avoid high-risk postures such as climbing over guardrails. After all, pregnancy is a major event in life, and it is understandable to be a little delicate, so everyone should pay more attention to it!
