What should I do if I have lower abdominal pain during menstruation?

Dysmenorrhea occurs in most women, and daily treatment and care are very important. Women's physical condition is relatively weak during menstruation, so they should strengthen their physical fitness and avoid strenuous exercise. Every time they feel dysmenorrhea, many women are at a loss and don't know what to do. They can only endure it. The following points introduced by the editor can help relieve the pain.

1. General treatment: Do physical exercise to enhance physical fitness. Pay attention to your daily life, combine work and rest, get proper nutrition and adequate sleep. Attach importance to the publicity and education of menstrual physiology, and eliminate patients' fear, anxiety and mental burden through explanation and persuasion. Strengthen menstrual hygiene, avoid strenuous exercise, excessive fatigue and prevent cold.

2. Inhibit ovulation: If the patient is willing to control fertility, oral contraceptive tablets (combined norethindrone tablets or compound megestrol acetate tablets) are the first choice for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea. With the use of oral contraceptives, more than 90% of symptoms can be relieved, possibly because endometrial growth is inhibited, menstrual volume is reduced, and the amount of PG drops below normal levels, resulting in weakened uterine activity.

3. Prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors: Fenbid. This type of drug can inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins, reduce uterine tension and contractility, and achieve the purpose of treating dysmenorrhea. Because the amount of prostaglandins released is the highest in the first 48 hours of menstruation, early medication can correct the excessive synthesis and release of prostaglandins in the blood during menstruation. Taking it when you have pain may not be effective, and it will take at least 3 hours to take effect. Indomethacin is also OK.

Side effects: gastrointestinal reactions and central nervous system symptoms, rarely causing bronchospasm and temporary renal impairment.

Women with dysmenorrhea will feel very painful, and it will also affect their normal life. There are many methods to treat it, such as medication, lifestyle adjustments, diet adjustments, etc., or there may be the influence of gynecological inflammation. When feeling pain, you cannot use drugs indiscriminately as the side effects are relatively large and it will cause neuralgia. The editor recommends going to the hospital for examination as soon as possible.
