Why do you urinate frequently during late pregnancy?

The health status of pregnant women is of concern to the whole family. After all, only when the pregnant woman's body is well taken care of can the baby in her belly be healthy enough. Some pregnant women have asked me why I have frequent urination in the late pregnancy. Is this a sign of labor? Will it have any impact on the baby's health? With these questions, let's take a look at the reasons for frequent urination in the late pregnancy that I have prepared for you today.

reason:

1. The main reason is that the baby has grown bigger, and he will swallow the amniotic fluid and then excrete urine in the stomach, and this urine will be excreted through the excretory system of the pregnant woman. So you have to excrete the amount of urine for two people, so naturally you will urinate frequently.

2. After 8 months of pregnancy, the fetal head is connected to the pelvis. At this time, the bladder becomes flat because the pregnant uterus or fetal head presses forward. The urine storage capacity will of course be significantly reduced compared to the non-pregnant period. Therefore, the frequency of urination will increase, about once every 1-2 hours, or even shorter. This is a normal physiological phenomenon. Do not hold it in and go to the bathroom immediately.

3. This is usually caused by the fetal head descending into the pelvis compressing the bladder. It is a normal physiological phenomenon and does not require treatment. Pregnant women just need to be careful not to hold urine and go to the toilet immediately. If you find that your urine is turbid or you experience pain when urinating, you may have a bacterial infection in your urinary tract and you should seek medical attention immediately.

4. Entering the late stage of pregnancy, around 38 weeks, the fetal head descends into the pelvis, which can compress the bladder and cause symptoms of frequent urination. During the day, when the expectant mother stands or sits, the enlarged uterus compresses the large blood vessels in the abdominal cavity, causing obstruction of venous return in the lower limbs, reduced renal blood flow, and reduced daytime urine volume. Staying in bed at night reduces the pressure of the uterus on the inferior vena cava, increases renal blood flow, and increases nocturia. This is a very normal physiological phenomenon in pregnant women. However, if you experience the "three more symptoms" of excessive thirst, excessive drinking, and excessive urination accompanied by no weight gain, you should seek medical attention promptly to rule out the possibility of gestational diabetes.

Can the above four reasons answer the questions of expectant mothers well? In fact, there is no need to worry. Frequent urination in the late pregnancy is actually a very normal scene and it is a good phenomenon. The most important thing for everyone during this period is to relax, don’t think too much, and tell your doctor immediately if you feel uncomfortable. This will keep you and your baby healthy.
