Breast pain in late pregnancy, what to do

We all know that the body of a pregnant mother is relatively fragile, and at this time, various pains can easily come to her. Some expectant mothers in the late stages of pregnancy will find that their breasts sometimes feel painful. Why is this? What should expectant mothers do at this time? Next, let the editor answer for all expectant mothers, hoping to be helpful to all expectant mothers.

It is normal to experience breast tenderness during late pregnancy.

The milk production and delivery system continues to expand and develop. Towards the end of pregnancy, there are 15 to 20 round protuberances in each breast, each of which consists of a main glandular bubble at the root end inside and a milk-delivery duct with a narrowed top opening outside the nipple.

Next, each rounded protrusion branches out into 20 to 40 small lobes, smaller milk ducts that contain 10 to 100 supporting glandular bubbles or milk sacs. At this time, the breasts are fully capable of producing milk. If the baby is born early at this time, the mother's breasts will also have milk to supply him.

But without stimulation from your baby's sucking or the help of a breast pump, milk production stops. This is because estrogen and progesterone inhibit prolactin, which is the driving force behind milk-making cells producing milk.

Signs and symptoms: Breast enlargement, and all changes in the way your breasts look and feel, will become more noticeable. Even expectant mothers whose breasts do not change significantly in the early and mid-pregnancy will notice obvious changes in their breasts during this period. Most people will experience colostrum leakage.

What needs to be done: During this period, you should take good care of your nipples for breastfeeding. On the one hand, you need to make sure your nipple can be well latched in your baby's mouth.

If your nipples are inverted, do nipple trimming for yourself twice a day at noon and afternoon - use your thumb and index finger to gently press the breasts along the upper and lower directions on the areola to make the nipples protrude as much as possible. Be careful not to pinch the nipple between your thumb and index finger, as this will make it more concave.

The above is what the editor wants to share with all expectant mothers today about the causes of breast pain in late pregnancy and what to do at this time. I hope it will be helpful to all expectant mothers. The editor here reminds all expectant mothers to pay more attention to their daily diet and rest. At the same time, I also wish all expectant mothers a healthy body.
