The possible effects of bleeding clots during pregnancy

Becoming a mother is every girl's most beautiful dream, and from the moment the baby appears in the belly, every mother will take care of her baby without hesitation. However, sometimes things don't go as planned. Some mothers will experience blood clots after pregnancy. What effects may blood clots bring?

In the early stages of pregnancy, abnormal vaginal bleeding, if accompanied by abdominal pain and discomfort in the lower abdomen, can easily lead to spontaneous abortion. Spontaneous abortion accounts for about 15% to 20% of known pregnancies. If the proportion of unknown pregnancies (i.e. abortion without knowing the pregnancy) is included, it can reach 30%.

There are two possibilities that may cause miscarriage. One is that the embryo itself has chromosomal or genetic abnormalities, which accounts for about 50% of miscarriages. The other half may be caused by the mother, such as thyroid disease, diabetes, progesterone deficiency, autoimmune diseases, or exposure to toxic substances such as smoking, drinking, drug abuse, etc. If none of these conditions exist, then attention should be paid to whether there is cervical incompetence, uterine vaginal inflammation and infection, uterine adhesions, or abnormal uterine development, which may cause a bad environment for embryo implantation and lead to miscarriage.

In most cases, if it is caused by problems with the embryo itself, miscarriage will not recur. However, if it is caused by the mother, treatment must be found to avoid repeated miscarriages. If there are more than three consecutive miscarriages and the cause cannot be found, a chromosome analysis of both husband and wife can be considered to clarify whether there is a problem of chromosome mutation that prevents the embryo from surviving.

If it is not a spontaneous abortion, but there is bleeding, we call it forced abortion. When this happens, the obstetrics and gynecology department will generally give some pregnancy-preserving drugs and teach the pregnant woman to get enough rest and avoid impact on the stomach. However, the effect of pregnancy-preserving drugs is not 100%, and there are still many chances of spontaneous abortion.

If you are a pregnant woman and if you happen to have the above symptoms, calm down first, and then verify each symptom one by one. Don't be too negative. When you are really unsure or you can't feel at ease, you should choose a hospital in time to seek medical treatment, listen to the doctor's instructions, cooperate with the doctor's treatment, don't give up the baby easily, and treat it rationally.
