Fallopian tube insufflation process

Fallopian tube insufflation process

Many women have difficulty getting pregnant due to adhesions and blockages in their fallopian tubes. Some women cannot even get pregnant at all. This makes many women very worried and want to have fallopian tube cannulation. So what are the processes of fallopian tube cannulation? In order for you to understand it as quickly as possible, please read the following detailed introduction.

Hydrotubation, also known as tubal perfusion, is a procedure in which a tube is inserted into the uterine cavity of the person being examined, and then 20 ml of medicine is injected through the tube. The medicine is usually saline plus antibiotics (usually gentamicin). The medicine flows from the uterine cavity through the fallopian tubes and finally reaches the pelvic cavity. According to the characteristic that the uterine cavity can only hold 5ml of volume, if the entire 20ml of solution can be pushed in smoothly without resistance, and no liquid flows back into the syringe after releasing the needle, it indicates that the solution has passed through the uterine cavity and fallopian tube cavity into the abdominal cavity, indicating that the fallopian tube is unobstructed; if the resistance is very large, and more than 10ml of solution flows back into the syringe after releasing the needle, it indicates that the fallopian tube is blocked; if most of the liquid can be injected despite resistance, and only a small amount flows back, it indicates that the fallopian tube is unobstructed.

However, since the entire process relies on manual operation by the doctor and is entirely based on subjective judgment, there are many false negative and false positive diagnostic results. For example, when hydrosalpinx occurs, the liquid enters the hydrosalpinx cavity. Although 20 ml can be injected smoothly, the fallopian tube is actually blocked. The accumulation of water cannot accurately determine whether the fallopian tube is unilaterally blocked (patent) or bilaterally blocked, nor can it specify the location of the blockage. The patient's nervousness during the examination will also affect the results of the examination.

During examination, many patients experience muscle tension that causes spasm of the fallopian tubes, which prevents the injection of the medicine. The doctor may feel the resistance to the injection and make a diagnosis of false obstruction. At the same time, some patients with fallopian tube obstruction have their endometrial blood vessels opened due to the high push pressure during tubal perfusion. When the tubal perfusion examination is performed, the endometrial blood vessels enter the open blood vessel cavity. At this time, there will be no resistance during tubal perfusion, which may cause diagnostic errors. At the same time, excessive fluid injected into the blood vessel cavity may cause endometrial migration. However, the fallopian tube permeation examination has the advantages of simple equipment, convenient operation and low price. This method was widely used before the 1980s. However, in actual clinical work, it was found that the misdiagnosis rate of this method was as high as over 50%, so it is not recommended.

The above is an introduction to fallopian tube perfusion. Therefore, many women have a comprehensive understanding of the process of fallopian tube perfusion through the above content. Therefore, after understanding the above, they should choose a regular hospital to perform fallopian tube perfusion to make their fallopian tubes unobstructed as soon as possible, so that they can get pregnant as soon as possible.
