What are the symptoms of positive anti-sperm antibodies in women?

If a woman's anti-sperm antibodies are positive, it will naturally affect and hinder the normal conception of the couple. We all know that once a woman produces antibodies to sperm, the sperm and egg cannot combine. This is why more and more couples are now affected by infertility. So let's take a closer look at some of the symptoms and solutions of positive female anti-sperm antibodies.

Antisperm antibodies (AsAb) are a complex pathological product that can occur in both men and women, and its exact cause is not yet fully understood. Men's sperm and seminal plasma are both specific antigens for women. Once they come into contact with blood, both men and women can cause an immune response and produce corresponding antibodies, which hinder the combination of sperm and egg and cause infertility.

Typical symptoms: Decreased sperm quality (65%) Low sperm motility (65%) Positive anti-sperm antibodies (60%) Poor sperm quality (60%) Uterine bleeding (25%)

The human body's immune function is performed by billions of different types of lymphocytes. Lymphocytes activated by specific antigens produce two different immune responses, namely humoral immunity and cellular immunity. Once foreign matter invades a part of the body, lymphocytes are like billions of armed soldiers. They immediately mobilize their troops, fight one after another, and move forward bravely. With the cooperation of white blood cells, macrophages, etc., they will eventually eliminate the invading enemies. However, immune responses are not always beneficial to individuals and can sometimes cause allergic reactions. Under normal circumstances, lymphocytes have the ability to distinguish between self tissues and foreign bodies. However, under pathological conditions, the immune recognition function makes wrong judgments, or human tissues undergo certain changes induced by certain external factors, causing the immune system to attack its own tissues, causing damage and destruction to the tissues themselves. This is an autoimmune disease, such as lupus erythematosus, immune nephropathy, etc. In addition, some tissues in the human body cannot be recognized by the immune system due to isolation from certain barriers. For example, sperm antigens occur in the late stage of individual development, later than the immune tolerance period, so sperm-specific antigens have auto- and alloimmunogenicity. And under normal circumstances, due to anatomical reasons, sperm is isolated from the blood circulation system and never encounters lymphocytes, so no immune response occurs. Once they meet due to reproductive tract damage or inflammation, an immune response occurs, producing anti-sperm antibodies.

Because we all know that for a family, if infertility exists, it will naturally have a greater impact on both people. Sometimes it can be said to be psychological torture. Therefore, I hope that every couple can pay attention to these common sense. As long as they understand it, they can take scientific treatment to help themselves conceive successfully.
