Self-massage technique to stimulate breastfeeding

Self-massage technique to stimulate breastfeeding

I believe everyone knows the importance of breast milk to babies. Breast milk is definitely the best food for babies. However, we also find that many mothers are prone to insufficient breast milk secretion. So, what good methods do we have to increase breast milk secretion? In fact, it is not that difficult to stimulate lactation. We can not only stimulate lactation through diet, but also use massage techniques to stimulate lactation.

The first step is to stimulate the surface of the nipple and massage it gently.

The second step is to massage the base of the nipple and comb it gently, pinching it and then combing it.

The third step is to pinch the four points up, down, left and right, press down, squeeze and reverse. Three centimeters and one inch outside the nipple, open your thumb outward to the same distance, press down to squeeze, then reverse and relax your fingers. There will be resistance, and resistance can ensure that the squeezing force is in place. When there is no resistance when pinching, there will not be enough pressure to flush the milk out. You must press down to the position where you can't press any further, then reverse your hands and give a light pushing motion.

Everyone has different habits. I have also taught many students. For example, some left-handed people are used to using their right hands, some are used to using their thumbs to exert force, and some are used to using their index fingers to exert force. It doesn’t matter. You must remember the key points. Press and squeeze, and turn your fingers upward. Many mothers say that they still cannot express milk after learning the technique. When you press down with your fingers, you must press the mammary duct vertically to push out the milk that was previously there. Once you understand this principle and know how to use force correctly, this method of applying force will definitely not hurt. If you feel pain, you should touch it. Some mothers start breastfeeding smoothly, but they may encounter milk congestion, and the baby suddenly has trouble eating one day. We need to check by touching the breast from the base in reverse direction. If there is any hardness, it may be that the mammary gland is blocked, and we should apply force locally. The lump is located at the nipple and the milk duct is not open, so we need to massage and dredge it here. The wrong way to do it is to rub the lump with the base of the palm, as the confinement nanny does. No matter what you do before, it is definitely wrong to rub the lump first. The door is not open, the channel is not unobstructed, and the milk still does not come out after rubbing. Finally, you have to squeeze hard to squeeze the milk out, but the pain and possible damage to the breast will be greater.

In the above article, we emphasized the importance of breast milk to babies. We recommend that mothers breastfeed their babies. If mothers have insufficient breast milk secretion, they can use some methods to increase milk production. The above article introduces in detail the self-massage techniques for increasing milk production.
