How to measure the length of menstrual period

How to measure the length of menstrual period

Menstruation is a troublesome thing for women every month. When it comes, the amount of blood may be more or less, and the pain and other reactions are also different. If it doesn't come, it will make people more worried, wondering whether they are pregnant, or whether there are other diseases affecting the cycle. So, what are the reference standards for the cycle and amount of menstruation to help us better understand menstruation and prevent and discover certain diseases in advance?

Gynecologists say that scanty menstruation and long duration are actually two different concepts. Scanty menstruation refers to the amount of menstruation, while long duration refers to the menstrual cycle. They should be distinguished, so let us see what is considered normal and what is considered a small amount. Menstruation refers to regular, periodic uterine bleeding, which will almost always occur to women except during pregnancy, lactation and menopause. Having it means that you have the most basic reproductive function, so you can see its importance.

Experts point out that under normal circumstances, the normal menstrual volume is 20-60 ml, and more than 80 ml is considered menorrhagia. Based on the rough estimate of sanitary napkin usage, the normal usage is to change it four or five times a day on average, with no more than two packs (10 pieces per pack) per cycle. If 3 packs of sanitary napkins are not enough and almost every sanitary napkin is soaked, it means that the menstrual flow is too heavy. On the contrary, if the menstrual flow is very small, or even just a little bit, some women have a very short menstrual period, less than 2 days and a very light flow.

So, why does the menstrual flow be light and last long? For a normal menstrual cycle, normal women of childbearing age usually have a period once a month. The period from the beginning of this menstruation to the first day of the next menstruation is called a menstrual cycle. Each visit usually lasts from 3 to 7 days, but the exact number of days varies from person to person. But it should be noted that the number of days must be at least three days and less than seven days. If the period lasts more than seven days, it is considered as prolonged menstruation.

With the above information, I believe that the majority of female friends have a certain judgment on whether their menstruation is normal. For those who have not yet entered the menopause period, unless there are certain sudden factors, such as pregnancy, gynecological diseases, etc., there will be problems such as occasional prolonged menstruation or small amount of menstruation. Everyone should pay attention carefully, discover problems early and deal with them early to ensure good health.
