6 symptoms of pelvic inflammatory disease

When a woman's resistance is poor, bacteria will retrogradely infect the body through the uterus and fallopian tubes and reach the pelvic cavity, causing pelvic inflammatory disease. If the acute phase is not treated thoroughly, it will develop into chronic pelvic inflammatory disease. Chronic pelvic inflammation lasts a long time and is a stubborn disease. It can also cause abnormal vaginal discharge, increased menstruation, dysmenorrhea, lower abdominal pain and other discomforts, affecting women's daily lives. Therefore, if women experience the following six abnormal conditions, they should be vigilant and see a gynecologist in time for a check-up.

1. Increased vaginal discharge

That is, the amount of leucorrhea increases abnormally, which may appear as mucopurulent secretions.

2. Increased menstrual flow

Due to pelvic congestion, patients may have increased menstruation, and menstrual disorders may occur when ovarian function is impaired.

3. Different degrees of lower abdominal pain

The pain is located in the lower abdomen or pelvis and is persistent, mostly bilateral. In mild cases, there is discomfort in the lower abdomen. In severe cases, in addition to pain, there is also a feeling of heaviness in the waist, often accompanied by fatigue. It is aggravated after sexual intercourse, before menstruation and during menstruation.

4. Dysmenorrhea

It often occurs 2-3 days before menstruation and is aggravated during menstruation.

5. Fever or chills

Patients with mild pelvic inflammatory disease may experience mild fever. If the condition is serious, they may have chills, high fever, headache, nausea, and vomiting. The body temperature is generally above 38 degrees.

6. Not pregnant after having normal sexual intercourse for more than two years without contraception

It is often secondary to fallopian tube obstruction caused by chronic salpingitis.
