Hypothyroidism may be relatively unfamiliar to many people. Hypothyroidism is the decrease in thyroid function. The thyroid gland is an indispensable and important part of our body's internal environment. If the internal environment becomes unstable, our body may experience some uncomfortable symptoms. Some complications also follow, so patients should promptly understand the dangers of hypothyroidism in women and prevent the disease in time. 1. Hyperlipidemia It is well known that thyroid function status is closely related to lipid metabolism. In most patients with hypothyroidism, serum total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and triglycerides (TG) are significantly higher than normal. However, there is no consistent conclusion on the effect of subclinical hypothyroidism on lipid metabolism. Some studies suggest that patients may have elevated LDL-C and/or decreased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). But these changes are far less obvious than clinical hypothyroidism. However, even slight abnormalities in LDL-C or HDL-C can greatly increase the risk of coronary heart disease. Therefore, thyroid hormone replacement therapy should be considered for patients with dyslipidemia. 2. Changes in heart function It has been shown that thyroid hormones increase heart rate and myocardial contractile function. Although some scholars have not found that the cardiac contraction time interval of patients with subclinical hypothyroidism is different from that of normal people, most studies have shown that the cardiac contraction time interval of patients can increase by 50% after treatment with levothyroxine (L-T4), and the contraction time interval is significantly positively correlated with TSH and negatively correlated with free thyroxine (FT4). The patients' left ventricular ejection fraction is often within the normal range, but in patients treated with L-T4, the left ventricular ejection fraction increased significantly after exercise. 3. Neuropsychiatric disorders Patients with subclinical hypothyroidism often have changes in cognitive function and mood, and some patients experience depressive symptoms. Furthermore, most patients do not respond well to treatment for psychiatric illness. Thyroid hormone preparations can improve patients' cognitive function and memory. The above article can provide timely information about some adverse disease symptoms of hypothyroidism in women. These complications are what patients need to pay attention to. If the above symptoms occur, they should cooperate with the doctor's examination and treatment in a timely manner. Patients should also adjust their mood on a daily basis, which can effectively alleviate the symptoms of hypothyroidism. |
