Follicle growth rate

Follicle growth rate

The menstrual cycle usually lasts eight or ten days from the sixth to the fourteenth day. At this time, the primitive follicles begin to grow, and this period is called the follicular phase. However, do you understand the follicle growth rate at this time? Why not take a look at the relevant knowledge introduction of follicle growth rate?

The growth rate of follicles is actually determined based on the morphological and functional changes in the follicle development process itself. This situation can include three stages: primordial follicles, growing follicles, and mature follicles. At this time, the follicles develop very quickly, the follicular phase will be shortened, menstruation will be frequent, and it is very likely that multiple menstruation will occur, so even if it is discovered, it should be checked in time.

Women are born with primordial follicles. A newborn has 700,000 to 2 million primordial follicles on both sides of the ovaries, and by puberty there are about 40,000 primordial follicles. Ultrasound imaging provides an effective method for detecting follicular development and ovulation, and can diagnose abnormal follicular development and various ovulation disorders more clearly. The most common abnormalities clinically are follicular dysplasia and absence of follicular development.

(2) Follicle growth rate: Ultrasound can reveal small follicles in the ovaries on the 3rd to 5th day of the menstrual cycle. These follicles gradually grow larger, reaching their largest size on the 14th day on average, and ovulation can occur. From the 5th day of menstruation to before ovulation, the primary follicle grows an average of 1.5mm per day; before the 10th day, it grows an average of 1.2mm per day; 4 days before ovulation, it grows an average of 1.9mm until the follicle matures.

The most common time for follicle growth to increase is from the third to the fifth day of a woman's menstrual cycle. Small follicles may begin to appear in our ovaries, and they will gradually grow larger over time, reaching their largest size on the fourteenth day on average, and ovulation may occur as a result.
