Imaging examination science mini-theater series: "You ask me, I answer" - the third episode on DR examination

Hello everyone, this is a popular science drama that uses easy-to-understand language to reveal the "true face" of imaging examinations and help everyone correctly understand imaging examinations. Welcome to today's popular science drama series on imaging examinations: "You ask me, I answer" DR examination third issue

Everyone knows that metal objects in the examination area need to be removed before the examination, but why do doctors sometimes ask people to take off or change clothes even if they only have plastic buttons and rubber prints on them?

This is to ensure the safety and accuracy of the examination. Most of the back buckles, shoulder straps, and adjustment buckles of underwear are made of metal, which will block part of the image and easily lead to missed diagnosis. With the improvement of the clarity of DR images, the plastic buttons and plastic prints of some clothes can also be displayed on DR images, which are easily confused with the real lesions and cause misdiagnosis. Taking a second shot of suspected foreign bodies in the first shot will increase the radiation dose. Therefore, it is very necessary to change into qualified clothes before DR examination.

Now "I" has become clearer. I can often see things that I couldn't see before. Some foreign bodies are 99% similar to lesions in the image. If you are not careful, you will be scared~

Why does the doctor ask me to lie on my back with my front facing the big "camera" on the bed when I clearly have back pain? Will it only capture the front and not the back?

The big "camera" is called a tube, which is the X-ray emitter. There are also flat-panel detectors under the bed and under the vertical board, which are the signal receiving devices after the X-rays penetrate the human body. The two together can form a complete DR imaging device. The X-rays emitted by the DR device are highly penetrating and can penetrate body tissues. So, please rest assured that as long as you can cooperate with the doctor to pose in a standard shooting position, you will definitely be able to capture the left, right, front, and back of the target area. Follow the doctor's requirements and cooperate with the body position to achieve the best inspection results.

My "fire eyes" can penetrate "you", please follow the doctor's instructions and cooperate with the body position .

Why is a DR chest X-ray required before hospitalization for non-thoracic diseases (such as leg pain, back pain, etc.) or non-thoracic outpatient surgery?

Because the DR chest X-ray at this time is a screening to ensure the safety of the patient's hospitalization and surgery. It is mainly used to screen for chest infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and pneumonia during admission; before surgery, it is to exclude chest diseases such as lung tumors, heart and large blood vessel diseases that may threaten the safety of surgery. Compared with other chest examinations, DR chest X-ray is a very simple and easy examination method with strong practicality, so it has become the first choice for doctors to screen chest lesions.

Because “I” am trouble-free and powerful, most chest diseases cannot escape “my eyes”. In order to prevent patients with “infectious lung diseases” from sneaking into general wards and for the life safety of surgical patients, you will often see “me”!
