【TCM Nursing Column】Wheat Grain Moxibustion Tongling Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Grain-shaped moxibustion As early as 2,000 years ago, wheat-grain moxibustion was widely used by the people. Most of the "moxibustion" recorded in classical literature before the Ming and Qing Dynasties refers to wheat-grain moxibustion. It was not until the Qing Dynasty that moxibustion with moxa sticks was first invented. "Shenjiu Jinglun" says: "Take the pungent moxa to make a stick, which can pass through the twelve meridians, enter the three yin meridians, regulate qi and blood, and treat all kinds of diseases." Moxibustion therapy has a wider range of indications than acupuncture therapy. "Lingshu·Guan Neng Pian" states: "Where the needle cannot reach, moxibustion is suitable." Wheat-grain moxibustion not only has the functions of ordinary moxibustion therapy to regulate qi, warm and nourish qi and blood, and harmonize yin and yang, but also has the characteristics of small moxibustion cones, accurate positioning, strong stimulation, short time, and quick effect. Grain-sized moxa cones are placed directly on acupuncture points to burn, and the moxibustion fire and drugs are used to stimulate the body's acupuncture points to prevent and treat diseases. Grain-sized moxibustion has the effects of strengthening the body's body and eliminating evil, warming the meridians and dispersing cold, promoting blood circulation and relieving pain, replenishing the middle and replenishing qi, and preventing and maintaining health. It has been widely used in the treatment of various clinical diseases and health care. Advantages and features 1. Grain-shaped moxibustion requires very little moxa, produces little smoke, and the amount of stimulation can be large or small. The burning and pain sensations are obvious and penetrating, and the duration is short, making it easy to accept. 2. It only causes slight burns or blisters, which can form scabs and fall off within 2-3 days. 3. Compared with mild moxibustion such as hanging moxibustion, the effect is more lasting. Indications It is suitable for symptoms of deficiency, cold, phlegm, blood stasis, etc. Such as: chronic allergic rhinitis, spleen and stomach deficiency and cold, cerebral stroke, bronchial asthma, diarrhea, chronic hepatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, tumor, insomnia, prevention of seasonal influenza, influenza A, etc. Contraindications 1.
