How can we prevent this common cancer in our daily life?

Gastric cancer is one of the common digestive system tumors. In China, the incidence of gastric cancer ranks second among all malignant tumors, second only to lung cancer; the mortality rate ranks third after lung cancer and liver cancer. Under the stimulation of various adverse factors, some gastric mucosal cells become cancer cells, and the cancer cells divide and proliferate uncontrollably and grow into malignant tumors, which is gastric cancer. The vast majority of gastric cancers originate from glandular tissue, so they are also called gastric adenocarcinoma.

1. How can we prevent it in our daily life?

1. Eat less pickled vegetables, smoked and pickled foods, and avoid moldy foods. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C, and more high-quality proteins such as meat, fish, soy products and dairy products;

2. Develop good eating habits. Try to eat at regular times and regular amounts, avoid eating too fast, overeating, or eating overly hot food;

3. Actively treat diseases related to gastric cancer, such as chronic atrophic gastritis, gastric ulcer, gastric polyp, giant gastric mucosal folds, etc., which are all precancerous diseases of the stomach.

2. How to detect gastric cancer early?

If gastric cancer is detected early, the five-year survival rate after surgical treatment can reach 90% to 95%, which shows the importance of early diagnosis of gastric cancer. The early detection of gastric cancer can be summarized into the following two points:

1. Pay attention to abnormal signals

Be careful if you experience any of the following:

People who had no stomach pain before have had recurrent stomach pain recently;

Although I had stomach pain before, the nature, intensity, and regularity of the pain have changed recently, and the previous medications have not been effective;

Long-term loss of appetite, upper abdominal distension or pain;

Unexplained weight loss, unexplained blood in the stool, etc.

2. Regular gastroscopy

For people at high risk of gastric cancer, gastroscopy should be performed every 6 to 12 months.
