The temperature has dropped sharply recently, reaching 0℃ at most! Check the 8 risk factors for stroke quickly

According to China Weather Network, from this Sunday to next Monday (December 10th to 11th), North China will experience the largest range of heavy snowfall this winter. Tianjin will have its first snowfall this winter. Due to the relatively high temperature in the early stage, this snowfall process will cause the temperature in the city to drop drastically. Starting from the 9th, the temperature in the city will drop significantly, with the highest temperature being 6℃. The highest daytime temperature on the 10th and 11th will remain around 0℃.

As the weather gets colder, stroke becomes more prevalent again.

Stroke, also known as brain infarction, is a general term for a group of diseases that cause sudden brain tissue damage due to blockage or rupture of brain blood vessels. The lifetime risk of stroke in adults in my country is as high as 39.3%, ranking first in the world.

Temperature changes are closely related to the risk of stroke. For every 1 degree Celsius drop in temperature, the risk of stroke increases by 1.13% and the risk of death from stroke increases by 1.2%. This may be because cold weather excites the body's sympathetic nerves, constricts peripheral blood vessels, increases platelets, makes blood pressure more volatile, and increases blood viscosity. Therefore, once we enter the autumn and winter seasons, we should pay more attention to preventing stroke.

If the stroke risk assessment score is ≥3 points, or if the patient has a history of stroke or transient ischemic attack, they are considered high-risk .

Those with a stroke risk assessment score of less than 3 points but suffering from one of the chronic diseases (hypertension, diabetes, atrial fibrillation or valvular heart disease) are classified as medium-risk groups ;

Those with a stroke risk assessment of less than 3 points and no chronic diseases are considered low-risk .

Stroke is characterized by high incidence, high recurrence rate, high disability rate and high mortality rate, but we are not "helpless". Instead, we can take some measures to prevent it.

Stroke is preventable and controllable. Interventional risk factors include hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, atrial fibrillation, smoking, alcohol intake, unreasonable diet, overweight or obesity, lack of exercise, psychological factors, etc. In addition, meteorological factors may be potential risk factors for stroke that cannot be ignored.

For stroke, prevention is more important than treatment . The first task of preventing stroke is to correct an unhealthy lifestyle. Eat a reasonable diet with low salt and fat; avoid overwork and ensure adequate sleep; quit smoking and limit alcohol; exercise moderately and avoid sitting or standing for long periods of time. It is recommended that healthy adults do aerobic exercise of moderate or higher intensity at least 3 to 4 times a week, each time for at least 40 minutes. At the same time, it is necessary to control blood pressure, control blood sugar, regulate blood lipids, consciously avoid risk factors for stroke, and do regular physical examinations. In addition, as the weather gradually turns cold, pay attention to keeping warm, arrange exercise time reasonably, and avoid cold periods in the morning and evening.
