What is the difference between good wine and bad wine? Is wine still good after dealcoholization?

Wine is made from grapes. Different varieties of grapes and fermentation methods affect the quality and taste of wine. There are expensive wines and ordinary and cheap wines on the market. So what is the difference between these two? Is wine still good after dealcoholization?

What is the difference between good wine and bad wine?

The quality of wine is mainly reflected in its taste and grape variety.

Good wine has a strong flavor, rich aroma, and a long aftertaste. Good wine can stimulate the taste buds and make people feel happy. Inferior wine has a poor taste, no layers, a sour taste, and a turbid and dull body.

The quality of grape varieties directly affects the quality of wine. Poor wine is usually made from inferior grapes.

1. Age of grape vines:

The grape vines have been planted for a short time, so the wine produced from them has a thin body. Generally, only grape vines with a history of more than 20 years can produce AOC-level wines.

2. Picking:

Grape picking can be divided into manual picking and machine picking. Manual picking is slow, but bad grapes can be removed, and high-quality grape raw materials can be obtained to make good wine. Poor-quality wine is generally picked by machine.

3. Wine color:

The color of inferior wine is brighter and looks new, and the same is true for aged wine. The color of good wine looks more solemn, and the color of aged wine is also different from that of new wine.

4. Wine aroma

Inferior wine has no variation in aroma and tastes the same all the time. Good wine has a variety of aromas that change over time, and the aroma of wine varies depending on the region of origin and grape variety.

Is wine still good after dealcoholization?

Dealcoholized wine is a type of wine that has had the alcohol separated from the process. If the alcohol content in the wine does not exceed 1.2%, it is considered to be alcohol-free. In the United States and the United Kingdom, this type of wine generally has an alcohol content of less than 0.5% and is considered to be alcohol-free. my country does not have clear regulations on the alcohol content of dealcoholized wine, but the default is 0.5%. Therefore, dealcoholized wine does not mean "zero alcohol", but only a low alcohol content and is classified as "alcohol-free".

Although it is not as alcoholic as regular wine, it still contains the polyphenols that regular wine has. Compared with regular wine, dealcoholized wine also has lower antioxidant capacity, but dealcoholized wine still has some benefits that regular wine cannot achieve, such as lower calories, about one-quarter to one-third of the same amount of regular wine. In addition, you don't need to worry about excessive alcohol intake affecting your health.

The correct way to drink wine

First: Food pairing for wine. This is introduced in the food pairing instructions for each wine. Generally, adults prefer dry red wine with barbecue, steak, salad, etc.

Second: The appropriate drinking temperature for wine is indicated on the Chinese label behind each bottle of wine. The recommended temperature is generally around 18 degrees. You can refer to the Chinese label for details.

Third: As a typical red wine glass, the Bordeaux glass has a longer body and a larger, rounder belly, which allows the wine to have a larger surface exposed to air and helps oxidation. The narrower mouth of the glass can gather the aroma of the wine at the mouth of the glass. It is generally believed that rich and strong red wines are suitable for tasting with a Bordeaux glass.

Fourth: Zhen Ming recommends that you drink the wine neat. Generally, imported wine in original bottles will not have additives such as Sprite, Red Bull, etc. added to the wine. Good wine must be drunk neat.

Finally, please note that if you are drinking a bottle of vintage wine, you still need to decant the wine. If it is ordinary table wine, you only need to open it a little in advance.

In general, the region has an arid continental climate, very dry, with an average annual temperature of around 20ºC, plenty of sunshine and very low rainfall. The vineyards have sandy soils, deep and with pebbles. In the Catamarca Valley region, the largest area of planting is the white grape variety Torrantés Riojano, but red grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Syrah are also very productive and perform well.
