Excessive accumulation of body fat due to excessive food intake or changes in body metabolism causes excessive weight gain and causes pathological and physiological changes or latent diseases in the human body.

When analyzing the degree of obesity based on body mass index, the international community usually uses the body mass index cutoff values ​​set by the World Health Organization (WHO), that is, a body mass index of 25.0 to 29.9 is overweight, and a body mass index of 30 or more is obese.
