IDC: China's foldable phone market shipments are expected to reach 10.68 million units in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 52.4%

The latest mobile phone quarterly forecast report released by International Data Corporation (IDC) shows that China's foldable screen mobile phone market shipments are expected to reach approximately 10.68 million units in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 52.4%; by 2028, China's foldable screen mobile phone shipments will exceed 17 million units, with a five-year compound growth rate of 19.8%.

The report said that Chinese manufacturers' active investment and layout in foldable screen mobile phones have made China the world's largest foldable screen mobile phone market.

IDC predicts that China's foldable screen mobile phone market will occupy about 40% of the global market share in the long term.

Huawei has always been an important participant in China's foldable screen mobile phone market. Whether it is in terms of product form, industrial chain technology or system application adaptation, it has always led the development of the foldable screen mobile phone industry. Since 2020, its market share has exceeded one-third.

Samsung's foldable screen products are under great competitive pressure from Chinese brands, with a market share of only 4.2%, ranking fifth.
