Canalys: Apple to lead global high-end smartphone market with 62% market share in Q2 2024

According to the latest data from market analysis firm Canalys, the top five manufacturers in the global high-end smartphone market (over $600) all achieved year-on-year growth in shipments in the second quarter of 2024. Among them, Apple ranked first in the high-end market with a market share of 62%. Apple successfully reversed the downward trend in the first quarter by launching the Apple Intelligence service, and achieved a year-on-year growth of 5% in the second quarter.

Demand for Samsung's Galaxy S24 series continued to be strong, with shipments in the second quarter increasing 35% year-on-year, ranking second with a market share of 22%.

Huawei, thanks to its continued efforts in the high-end market, saw its shipments increase by 80% year-on-year, ranking third in market share, becoming one of the fastest growing brands this quarter; Xiaomi and vivo ranked fourth and fifth respectively.

In mainland China, Apple continued to lead with a market share of 52%; Huawei ranked second with a share of 30%; Xiaomi and vivo followed closely in third and fourth place respectively.

In the Asia-Pacific region (excluding Greater China), Apple's shipments increased by 23% year-on-year, with a market share of 60%. Samsung ranked second with a market share of 34%; Google, OPPO, and Xiaomi followed closely behind.

The market in the Americas (including North America and Latin America) is dominated by Apple and Samsung, ranking first and second with market shares of 72% and 25% respectively.

In Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Apple ranks first with a market share of 61%, followed by Samsung with a market share of 32%.
