Canalys: Samsung's shipments reached 60.3 million units in Q1 2023, ranking first in the global smartphone market

According to recent news, Canalys announced the ranking of manufacturers in key global smartphone markets in the first quarter of 2023. Samsung ranked first with shipments of 60.3 million units; Apple ranked second with shipments of 58 million units, with a market share of 21%; Xiaomi ranked third with shipments of 30.5 million units; OPPO and vivo ranked in the top five with shipments of 26.6 million and 20.9 million units respectively, with market shares of 10% and 8% respectively.

Global Key Regions

Apple's share of the Chinese market reached 20%, followed by OPPO with 19%, vivo, Honor and Xiaomi ranked third, fourth and fifth, with shares of 17%, 14% and 13% respectively. Among them, Honor's annual growth rate declined the most, reaching 35%.

Top five markets worldwide

Global smartphone shipments fell 13% year-on-year to 270 million units in the first quarter of 2023. Canalys predicts that the market will see a small decline in 2023. By mid-year, shipments will stabilize at around 2022 levels. The decline in shipments will improve soon, but this is mainly due to the sharp contrast between 2022 and 2023.
