Umeng Index: A comprehensive view of the latest mobile phone market landscape

At the end of the year, mobile phone manufacturers have begun to calculate their annual market share, but these statistics are generally inflated and cannot be checked by themselves. Now, by relying on App-side traffic statistics, such as the third-party developer platform Umeng, you can obtain real, real-time (monthly updated) data.

We have reported the statistical results for September (reply keyword # 9月排名# to view). Now more than two months have passed, and with the database revision, we can see some very interesting results:

In December 2014, the top six domestic Android device brands (i.e., Samsung, Huawei, Lenovo, Xiaomi, BBK, and Coolpad) accounted for 63.59% of the Android market: Samsung 20.86%, Xiaomi and Redmi 12.53%, Huawei 7.91%, Lenovo 6.32%, BBK and OPPO 10.62%, and Coolpad 5.35%. Compared with the results in September 2014, except for Xiaomi, BBK and OPPO, whose shares increased by about 1.17% and 0.5% respectively, the shares of other manufacturers all decreased slightly.

1. The iPhone 5s (23.5%) and 4s (17.9%) account for the highest proportion of Apple models, while the new iPhone 6 and 6+ only account for 13.3% of iOS devices. The most surprising thing is that the jailbreaking rate is only a pitiful 8.8%;

2. The top five domestic Android devices are: Samsung note2, Xiaomi 2s, Xiaomi 3, Samsung S3, Samsung S4;

3. Among Samsung models, the highest share is Note2, S3 and S4;

4. Xiaomi 2s, Xiaomi 3 and Redmi account for the largest share of Xiaomi models;

5. Huawei models with the highest share are Honor 3C, 3X, Huawei Y511-T100 and P6.

A new model ranking page has been added to the database. The top ten devices in major cities are almost all Xiaomi and Samsung models, and Xiaomi 3 is the most active device in more than half of the cities.
