A person's body shape is composed of the weight and proportion of all tissues, including bones, muscles, adipose tissue and body fluids. After adulthood, long-term dietary structure and physical activity factors become the main reasons for changes in body shape.

Studies have shown that there is a certain relationship between weight and longevity.

Overweight and obesity increase the risk of coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes, breast cancer in postmenopausal women, and hypertension in children. Low body weight also increases the risk of death in the elderly. Being too thin reduces the body's tolerance to disease and trauma, increases the probability of contracting various diseases, reduces the quality of life, and increases the risk of death.

However, people who have a normal weight when they are young and are slightly overweight when they are older have a lower risk of death.

How to measure your own fatness?

The standards for judging weight include "normal", "low", "overweight", "obese", etc. In my country and most countries in the world, body mass index (BMI) is the most commonly used indicator for judging weight.
