Cerebral hemorrhage at the drinking table reminds everyone: every person with high blood pressure is drinking at the risk of his life!

Late at night, the phone in the emergency department suddenly rang. On the other end of the phone, the nurse called out urgently: Anesthesiology department? Come to the emergency department to help!

There was no time to ask more questions for a call like this, and there was no need to ask more questions. In short, it must be a very critical situation.

As soon as he turned around, the doctor on duty, Liu, ran out in his white coat. His heels were all on his feet, but he had no time to fix them. Let him be embarrassed like this.

When I ran to the door of the emergency department at the speed of a 100-meter sprint, the door was still open. This meant that the patient had just been brought in and everyone had not had time to close the door.

Rushing to the emergency bed, a huge abdomen blocked Dr. Liu's view. Squeezing forward, he finally saw the patient's face. Wow! Dr. Liu couldn't help but exclaim in his heart.

It turned out that this was a fat man. His estimated weight was not 300 kilograms, but at least 280 kilograms. His face could not be seen, firstly because of his big belly, and secondly because of the thick subcutaneous fat on his back, especially on his neck and shoulders, so his head was almost hanging in the air and tilted back.

The extremely agitated patient unconsciously resisted rescue: it took two nurses working together to finally get the IV in. He was too strong, especially when he was unconscious, so one nurse couldn't hold his arm down.

At this point, Dr. Liu had basically understood the situation at the scene: they were drinking. Two hours ago, the patient had slumped over the table. Seeing him slumped over the table, everyone thought he was in poor condition and had drunk too much. It was not until the drinking party was over that everyone realized something was wrong and rushed him to the hospital.

Judging from the fact that the patient had almost no consciousness, one side of his limbs could not move, and there was a large amount of vomiting, it was most likely a cerebrovascular accident.

The situation at that time was extremely complicated: drunk, blood pressure over 200, unconscious, vomiting constantly, struggling frequently...

Considering that the condition was very likely to continue to worsen, in order to slow down the worsening of the condition caused by the continued increase in blood pressure, and to create favorable conditions for the subsequent X-ray diagnosis, Dr. Liu decided to intubate the patient immediately.

However, the intubation process was not smooth: the clenched jaws and the constantly shaking head became the biggest obstacles to intubation. So he decided to use some drugs to assist in intubation. Another reason why anesthetics must be used is because of the patient's blood pressure. At that time, his blood pressure was as high as 220. In any case, this blood pressure could not be stimulated any further.

After an IV of general anesthetic was injected, the laryngoscope still had difficulty lifting the patient's epiglottis. He had no choice but to add half a syringe and finally saw the epiglottis. Seeing the right moment, Dr. Liu quickly inserted the endotracheal tube into the glottis.

The moment the glottis was inserted, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. This meant that even if the patient vomited again or the situation became worse, there was a way to control it.

Looking at the blood pressure on the screen again, the blood pressure that had just improved soared to 220 again.

Therefore, we immediately decided to control the blood pressure and send him to the CT room for diagnosis as soon as possible.

After a short respite, Dr. Liu had the opportunity to learn about the patient's health with his family. Upon asking, he learned that he had high blood pressure. He gave up the antihypertensive medicine after several attempts, as it didn't work, and he drank alcohol frequently.

Hearing this, Dr. Liu felt so angry that his teeth were itching.

Dr. Liu no longer needed to participate in the follow-up treatment, so he returned to the Anesthesiology Department to continue his duty.

[Knowledge Point] Drinking a lot of alcohol can seriously affect the tension of blood vessels and the stability of blood pressure. In this case, the final diagnosis was hemorrhagic stroke, that is, cerebral hemorrhage. The inducing factor is that alcohol increases the excitability of the sympathetic nerves, which in turn aggravates the increase in blood pressure and eventually causes rupture of cerebral blood vessels.
