Natural birth and cesarean section

Natural birth and cesarean section

There are two ways of delivery: natural birth and caesarean section. Every woman will undergo various examinations before delivery to ensure which way of delivery is suitable for her. However, many mothers prefer natural childbirth, thinking that it is better for the baby, can reduce the risk of complications for the baby, and can also help mothers eliminate lochia in the body, which helps the body recover better. So, what is the difference between natural childbirth and caesarean section?

The factors that affect normal delivery are actually determined by the labor force (the force of uterine contraction), the birth canal, the fetus and the mother's own mental factors.

Some pregnant mothers think that natural birth is too painful and insist on choosing a caesarean section. This is actually a big misunderstanding. Because the pain of a caesarean section may be even greater than that of a natural birth. After the anesthetic wears off, the pain in the scar, the frequent contractions of the uterus, and the urethral pain caused by the need to insert a catheter during the operation are no less painful than a natural birth.

Some pregnant mothers mistakenly believe that natural childbirth will cause the lower body to become looser and larger. In fact, this is also a misunderstanding. Scientifically speaking, the vagina of pregnant women begins to gradually relax in the late stages of pregnancy. The progesterone in the body begins to prepare at this time, allowing the pelvic seam to gradually widen and the vagina to slowly expand, preparing for the baby to pass smoothly through the birth canal.

The editor recommends to all pregnant mothers: go for regular prenatal checkups, listen to the doctor, and of course choose a natural birth if possible. After all, mothers who give birth naturally recover faster, can resume eating right after giving birth, and will be able to get out of bed and move around soon.

When talking about the difference between caesarean section and natural birth, we have to mention the difference between the babies born from the two. There seems to be a saying among the people that "babies born naturally are smarter than those born by caesarean section." In fact, this can be said to be a rumor.

Abroad, a special research institute once conducted a special follow-up study on nearly 200 newborn babies born naturally and nearly 200 newborn babies born by caesarean section, and conducted PPVT intelligence screening on them for many years. The results found that there was no obvious difference in their IQ screening. Later, similar data were also specially studied in China. These were enough to show that whether it was a caesarean section or a natural birth, the different methods of delivery would not affect the development of the child's IQ.

Some people mistakenly believe that babies born naturally are smarter after "squeezing the birth canal". In fact, squeezing will not affect the baby's brain nerve cells at all. The real difference is: after squeezing the birth canal, the lung function of babies born naturally is effectively exercised, because the squeezing stimulates the baby's nerves and sensory organs, which helps the baby's development.
