If your abdomen is always bloated and painful, and you can't find the cause, it may be a "heart disease"

A friend left a message to Huazi, saying that he always felt abdominal distension and dull pain due to neurosis, and sometimes had belching symptoms. What should he do? Can he take stomach medicine in his case? He had symptoms, but the cause could not be found, so he did not dare to take medicine.

Hua Zi said that indigestion caused by neurosis is also called functional indigestion, and its main manifestation is abdominal discomfort, including bloating, pain, acid reflux, belching, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms, but the cause cannot be found under various examinations such as gastroscopy. Stomach medicine can be used for symptomatic treatment, but if you want to cure it completely, you need to treat the "heart disease".

1. Functional dyspepsia with high incidence rate Among digestive system diseases, the most common one is dyspepsia, which is divided into organic dyspepsia and functional dyspepsia. Organic dyspepsia refers to the abnormal digestive function caused by gastric and duodenal ulcers, erosive gastritis, chronic infection, diabetes, tumors and other factors.

Functional dyspepsia refers to symptoms similar to indigestion, but no organic lesions can be found after various examinations. From the proportion of patients Huazi sees in the hospital, more than half of those with indigestion symptoms have functional dyspepsia.

2. Causes of functional dyspepsia The treatment of organic dyspepsia is relatively simple, because the specific cause can be found and only the cause needs to be treated. Relatively speaking, functional dyspepsia is more difficult to treat and will recur, which brings great pressure and burden to patients.

Factors that induce functional dyspepsia:

1. Negative emotions: In actual treatment, most people's functional dyspepsia is actually related to emotions, which can be said to be a "heart disease". The number of nerves in the human digestive system is second only to the central nervous system. When people are in negative emotions such as anxiety, depression, tension, fear, etc. for a long time, it will cause gastrointestinal autonomic nerve disorders, resulting in a state of "no appetite for tea or food", and digestive function will also be disordered.

2. Family factors: Functional dyspepsia is not hereditary, but personality has a clear hereditary tendency. People with sensitive personalities are always sentimental, have wild thoughts when encountering things, are easily influenced by negative suggestions, demand perfection from everything around them, and are particularly prone to anxiety and depression, which can lead to the occurrence of functional dyspepsia.

3. Helicobacter pylori infection: The infection rate of Helicobacter pylori in Chinese people is about 60%. Helicobacter pylori can secrete urease and various bacterial toxins, which can destroy the defense function of the gastric mucosa, thus causing gastric acid and pepsin to erode the stomach wall, resulting in symptoms of indigestion.

4. Improper diet: Improper diet can also cause digestive disorders. For example, skipping breakfast, overeating, or liking carbonated drinks, sweets, coffee, or drinking too much alcohol can all cause functional indigestion.

3. How to use medication for functional dyspepsia 1. Symptomatic medication: Many people are confused about whether there is no organic lesion in the digestive tract, which means there is no disease and whether medication can be used? Huazi said that medication can be used to treat symptoms. For example, if there are frequent symptoms such as upper abdominal fullness, food accumulation, nausea, and vomiting, gastric motility drugs such as domperidone and mosapride can be used.

If you have symptoms of excessive stomach acid such as burning sensation in the chest area and acid reflux, you can use antacids such as omeprazole, lansoprazole, and rabeprazole. If indigestion is caused by insufficient secretion of digestive juices and digestive enzymes, you can take drugs that promote digestion such as dilute hydrochloric acid and pepsin. The purpose of medication is mainly to relieve symptoms and reduce discomfort.

2. Eradication of Helicobacter pylori: If you have symptoms of indigestion and are also infected with Helicobacter pylori, you can undergo Helicobacter pylori eradication treatment. The "quadruple method" is usually used, which is an antacid, a bismuth agent, and two antibiotics (commonly used amoxicillin, clarithromycin, tetracycline, levofloxacin, etc.), which are used for 10 to 14 days.

Before taking the medicine, you need to do an examination (such as penicillin skin test, electrocardiogram, etc.) to confirm whether the medicine is safe and to avoid adverse drug reactions during the medication process. Therefore, you need to take the medicine safely under the guidance of a doctor.

3. Psychological treatment: "Psychological illness" caused by emotional problems is the main cause of functional dyspepsia. Indigestion is only one of its manifestations. There may also be neurological symptoms such as insomnia, early awakening, dreaminess, night sweats, and cardiovascular system symptoms such as palpitations, tachycardia, and chest tightness. This is often a manifestation of anxiety or depression (depressed patients are basically accompanied by anxiety).

It is recommended to see a psychological clinic and seek professional psychiatrists for diagnosis and treatment. If you are diagnosed with anxiety and depression, you need to receive treatment, including psychotherapy and medication. Medication can be effective in the short term, but it usually takes more than two years to achieve a good effect and completely eliminate the symptoms caused by autonomic dysfunction.

In summary, functional dyspepsia, which cannot be diagnosed with a specific cause, is mainly caused by "heart disease" due to emotional reasons, and is also related to Helicobacter pylori infection and dietary factors. Medication can be used to treat symptoms and relieve symptoms, but if you want to completely cure the disease, you need to eliminate the "heart disease". Medication must be used under the guidance of a doctor. If you have any questions about medication, please consult a doctor or pharmacist.
