Is it harmful for pregnant women to take Euthyrox?

There is no harm for pregnant women to take Pinule. Because Euthyrox is a normal form of high thyroid hormone in the human body, pregnant women are only given the drug when they suffer from hypothyroidism. Giving high thyroid hormone supplements (that is, Euthyrox) at therapeutic doses just makes up for the deficiency of high thyroid hormone in pregnant women's bodies, thus eliminating the harm to pregnant women and fetuses caused by insufficient metabolism of high thyroid hormone. Of course, if you don't use the dosage suitable for yourself under the guidance of a doctor, it will also cause side effects.

For example, excessive use of Euthyrox can artificially induce hyperthyroidism, and the patient is prone to symptoms such as irritability, panic, fear of cold, and sweating. If the intake is insufficient, thyroid hormone cannot be significantly increased, pregnant women may feel drowsy, and more importantly, the problem of delayed fetal language development cannot be avoided at all. Therefore, if thyroid hormone is used appropriately under the guidance of a doctor, there will be no side effects.

Pregnancy is a special physiological stage in which nutrition needs to be enhanced. During pregnancy, pregnant women cannot use medicines casually. So can pregnant women take Euthyrox for a long time? What are the taboo groups of Euthyrox? Let's take a look together below!

Can pregnant women take Euthyrox for a long time?

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is necessary to continue to use thyroid hormone treatment. Usage of this product may increase during pregnancy. So far, although this product is widely used by pregnant women, there are no reports that this product will cause harm to the fetus. Even in the case of high-dose levothyroxine treatment, the amount of thyroid hormone excreted into breast milk during feeding is not enough to cause the baby to produce more thyroid hormone or suppress TSH secretion.

During pregnancy, it is not suitable to use levothyroxine and antithyroid drugs together to treat hyperthyroidism, because adding levothyroxine will increase the dosage of antithyroid drugs.

Unlike levothyroxine, reasonable doses of antithyroid drugs can pass through the fetus, so concurrent levothyroxine treatment requires higher doses of antithyroid drugs, which may cause fetal hypothyroidism. Therefore, breastfeeding women with relatively high levothyroxine levels must be treated with anti-thyroid drugs separately.
