Banned substances were detected in two batches of products including Huimei Oriental's Aloe Vera Silk Mask

On the 13th, the State Food and Drug Administration released a "Notice on the Detection of Banned Substances in 2 Batches of Cosmetics" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice") on its official website, stating that in the national cosmetics supervision and random inspection work, after inspection by the Tibet Autonomous Region Food and Drug Inspection Institute, a batch of general skin care products marked as Yuxintang Aloe Vera Snake Oil Cream produced by Mingyan Biotechnology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was found to be unqualified, including methylchloroisothiazolinone and a mixture of methylisothiazolinone with magnesium chloride and magnesium nitrate (methylchloroisothiazolinone: methylisothiazolinone is 3:1), with a test result of 0.0028%.

A batch of facial mask products, Huimei Oriental Curacao Aloe Vera Silk Mask, produced by Henan Curacao Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., was inspected by Jiangsu Food and Drug Supervision and Inspection Institute and was found to be unqualified for dexamethasone, with a test result of 0.23μg/g.

The notice stated that the companies involved in the above-mentioned unqualified products violated the provisions of the "Regulations on Cosmetic Hygiene Supervision" and other relevant laws and regulations. The State Drug Administration requires the drug supervision and administration departments of Shanghai and Jiangsu Province (Municipality) to verify and urge the relevant production companies to take timely recall measures for the relevant products that have been put on the market, initiate investigations, and deal with them seriously in accordance with the law; and requires the drug supervision and administration departments of Tibet and Jiangsu Province (Autonomous Region) to order the relevant business units to immediately take measures such as delisting to control risks, and investigate and deal with any illegal acts found in accordance with the law. The above-mentioned provincial drug supervision and administration departments shall disclose the results of the handling of the relevant companies or units within 3 months from the date of the announcement, and report the investigation and handling situation in the national cosmetics sampling information system in a timely manner.
