55-year-old menopause after two years of menopause

As we all know, women usually go through menopause when they are around 50 years old, which means they no longer ovulate. Amenorrhea means that they should have menstruation but don't. So, is it normal to have menstruation again after one year of amenorrhea? Next, let’s learn about it together.

Is it normal to have my period again after one year of amenorrhea?

This is not normal, you'd better go to the hospital for a check-up.

Amenorrhea is a common gynecological disease and can be caused by a variety of different reasons. Amenorrhea is generally divided into two types: primary and secondary. Anyone who has not had sex after the age of 18 is called primary amenorrhea; if a girl's menstruation stops for more than 6 months at any time after her menarche and before normal menopause (except during pregnancy or breastfeeding), it is called secondary amenorrhea. Such a distinction is largely artificial, as the underlying factors that cause primary and secondary amenorrhea can sometimes be the same. However, this distinction is valuable in providing clues to the cause and prognosis of the disease. For example, most congenital abnormalities, including abnormal development of the uterus, ovaries or müllerian tissue, cause amenorrhea, which is classified as primary amenorrhea, while secondary amenorrhea is mostly caused by secondary diseases and is easy to treat.

The main symptoms of amenorrhea are as follows:

1. Symptoms such as low libido, breast shrinkage, loss of axillary and pubic hair, and infertility are often caused by insufficient gonadotropin metabolism.

2. Symptoms such as fatigue, anorexia, weight loss, and syncope are often caused by insufficient metabolism of adrenal growth hormone.

3. Symptoms such as chills, pale skin, dryness, bradycardia, low blood pressure, dullness, constant sleepiness, dementia, and indifference are often caused by insufficient thyroid-stimulating hormone metabolism.

4. It is often caused by pituitary tumors accompanied by obesity, excessive or extremely large hair deformity, acromegaly, hypertension, rough skin, and polycythemia.

5. Ovarian imbalance is often associated with infertility, excessive hair growth, obesity and other symptoms.
