Don’t squeeze pimples in the “danger zone”

When it comes to "acne", many people will frown. And many people who are troubled by acne often squeeze the acne on their faces with the attitude of out of sight, out of mind. Little do they know that acne cannot be squeezed just because you want to. If you are not careful, leaving marks and scars on your face is minor, and serious ones may even endanger your life.

The scientific name of acne is acne, which refers to the inflammation of the sebaceous glands of the hair follicles. Because it often occurs in adolescence, it is also called "acne". During adolescence, the hormones (androgens) in the human body surge, and the secretion of facial oil also increases. At the same time, the hair follicles are blocked to form keratin plugs, and dense acne begins to appear. When there is sufficient "food" (triglycerides), the acne bacteria in the hair follicles multiply in large numbers, further aggravating the inflammation and forming red acne. If it is not properly cared for, scratching and squeezing with hands will leave permanent marks, acne marks and acne scars. In terms of age, acne often occurs in adolescence, but from the practice of dermatology clinics and actual observations in social life, some middle-aged and elderly people also have acne troubles, which is mainly related to the changes in sex hormones. In addition, the occurrence of acne is also closely related to personal skin quality. People with oily skin are often more prone to acne.

Leaving some marks is at most a "beautiful regret", but if you squeeze the pimples in the "dangerous triangle" of the face, it can be a matter of "life and death". Sometimes we see news such as "someone was admitted to the intensive care unit due to squeezing pimples" in social news, which are usually related to the "dangerous triangle".

The "danger triangle" is an isosceles triangle with the root of the nose as the starting point and the line connecting the two corners of the mouth as the base. The reason why it is dangerous is that the blood supply to this area is very rich. After squeezing the pimples, the bacteria on the face will enter the facial veins, flow down with the blood into the heart, and then circulate with the blood to the lungs, liver, kidneys and other organs of the human body, causing more serious infections.

In addition, the "dangerous triangle" has another characteristic, that is, the veins in this area do not have venous valves to prevent blood from flowing back. The veins in the face are connected to the veins in the skull. Under normal circumstances, the venous blood in the face flows downward into the heart, but because there are no venous valves, when the blood vessels that flow downward are blocked or partially squeezed, the blood can flow upward into the skull. Therefore, if the pimples in the "triangle" are squeezed carelessly, it is easy to cause inflammation to spread rapidly, causing intracranial cavernous sinus thrombosis, which can even be life-threatening in severe cases.

Usually, pimples will appear and fall off in about three to five days, and there is no need to squeeze them. The process of squeezing pimples may seem easy, but it is actually very dangerous. Rough and wrong techniques, unhygienic equipment, etc. can easily lead to unpleasant consequences. Therefore, if you have pimples, you must control your hands and seek help from a professional doctor if necessary.

In short, pimples are annoying and squeezing pimples is dangerous, so what are some ways to reduce the number of pimples? For some friends who are prone to pimples, it is important to eat less high-sugar foods, maintain good hygiene habits, do not touch the skin with unwashed hands frequently, and choose skin care products suitable for your skin type as needed. As for friends with extremely serious acne problems, it is recommended to go to the dermatology department of the hospital for treatment and take the right medicine under the guidance of the doctor. Do not abuse the so-called acne creams recommended on the Internet.
