How long in advance should I buy the Gulangyu ferry ticket?

Tickets need to be purchased in advance, especially on weekends and holidays, because there is a limit on the number of tickets. It is recommended to purchase tickets one week in advance on weekdays and half a month in advance on holidays.

Each account can only book 5 tickets. Tickets cannot be changed. If you need to cancel your ticket, please remember to do so 1 hour in advance. A certain handling fee will be charged for ticket refunds.

What are the differences between the different priced tickets of Gulangyu Ferry?

The difference in ticket prices is due to a combination of factors, including changes in the boarding terminal, increased terminal operating costs, improved service levels, heritage protection, and so on.

There are currently 5 types of ferry fares:

A1: Xiamen citizens or non-Xiamen residents with Xiamen medical and social security insurance are charged RMB 8 per person for round trip, and the landing pier is: Ferry Terminal - Piano Pier;

A2: The round trip boat fare is 35 yuan per person, and the landing pier is Xiamen International Cruise Terminal - Gulangyu Sanqiutian/Neicuoao Wharf;

A3: Ordinary round trip boat for tourists: 30 yuan/person round trip, landing and arrival pier: Songyu Pier in Haicang-Neicuoao Pier;

A4: Round trip luxury boat for tourists: 50 yuan/person round trip, landing and arrival at Xiamen International Cruise Terminal - Neicuoao Terminal;

A5: Gulangyu World Cultural Heritage Sea Tour: 258 yuan/person round trip, boarding and arrival pier: Xiamen International Cruise Terminal - Gulangyu Sanqiutian;

A6: Night flight round trip fare: 35 yuan/person: Xiamen Ferry Terminal - Sanqiutan Terminal.

How long does it take to take the ferry to Gulangyu Island?

If you are a registered resident of Xiamen or work in Xiamen and hold a local medical and social security card, you can use your ID to go to Gulangyu Island from the Lujiangdao Ferry Terminal. The boat ride takes about 15 minutes, because you can clearly see Gulangyu Island on the opposite bank from the ferry terminal, so it is actually very close and not very far.

If you are a foreign tourist, you need to take a boat from Dongdu Cruise Center to Gulangyu Island (because local residents and tourists are separated, hence the division), then the boat ride will take about 25 minutes. Because Dongdu is quite far from Gulangyu Island, the actual distance is not particularly far.
