What fertilizer to use for cactus? How to fertilize cactus?

Cactus is a plant that many people raise. Most people raise cacti to protect against radiation. There is also a question: cacti are easy to raise and will not die even if they are not watered for several days. So do you need to fertilize cacti?

What fertilizer to use for cactus

Don't fertilize the cactus too often, because it is not a plant that likes fertilizer. And don't fertilize in winter, and don't fertilize in summer when the temperature is high, because it is dormant during these two periods, and fertilization is useless. Fertilization can be applied in spring and autumn, very casually, with some organic fertilizer, cake fertilizer, sheep manure fertilizer, etc., or change the pot soil, use fertile sandy soil, and add some coarse sand to the soil of rotten leaves. Basically, you don't need to fertilize much.

Do not apply too much fertilizer at one time. Make sure it is well-matured fertilizer. Water it thoroughly after fertilizing. Keep it in a well-ventilated and well-lit place. Shade it during the high temperatures in summer, or move it indoors to a ventilated and shaded place.

How to fertilize cactus

Cactus likes a sunny and warm climate. It is drought-resistant, but afraid of rain and waterlogging. It is resistant to barrenness but not cold-resistant. Indoor maintenance in winter should be above 10 degrees, and the lowest should not be lower than 5 degrees.

In spring, summer and autumn, it prefers a relatively humid growing environment. It needs plenty of sunlight, but in summer it needs proper shading, avoid rain, and pay attention to ventilation.

Cactus plants can be properly topdressed with liquid fertilizer during the vigorous growth period in spring and summer. Be sure not to get the liquid fertilizer on the ball when applying liquid fertilizer to avoid rotting the ball.

Do not apply too much nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise the cactus will only grow bulbs but not bloom. Apply more phosphorus fertilizer appropriately to produce buds and flowers. Stop fertilizing after autumn to encourage the cactus to enter a dormant state, which is conducive to wintering.

What to do if the surface of the cactus is wrinkled

The wrinkled surface of the cactus indicates a serious lack of water. Any plant cannot grow without water. The cactus is relatively drought-resistant, but it also needs sufficient water supply. If it is not watered in time, it will become soft if it cannot keep up with its water demand. If it is not watered for a long time, the surface will become wrinkled and soft when pinched. Just water it in time. This situation occurs when there is no rot.

Another situation is that you have been raising it indoors for a long time, and suddenly put it under the sun. Its sphere cannot withstand the sunlight and will become soft and wrinkled. If you find this situation, move the sphere to a place with relatively weak light in time, let it adapt to the light, and gradually increase the light for it.
