Why do jasmine flowers always have insects? How to solve the problem of insects in domestic jasmine?

Jasmine is a very common flower in life. Because of its fragrant smell and easy survival, many flower lovers like to grow some at home. But when growing jasmine, many insects grow on the leaves. Why do jasmine always have insects? How to solve the problem of jasmine having insects at home? Let's take a look.

Why are jasmine flowers infested with insects?

Jasmine is easy to grow and is loved by many people. However, all plants and animals exist in the food chain and cannot be separated. Where there are flowers, there are insects, and jasmine is naturally among them. It also has many diseases and pests. Like other plants, diseases are caused by fungi, bacteria, and viruses.

How to solve the problem of insects in domestic jasmine

1. Red spider

They gather on the back of leaves and spin silk webs to cause damage. You can use a sprayer to add 4 drops of cypermethrin or 4 drops of cypermethrin to 400 ml of water and shake well to spray.

2. Leaf roller

The symptoms of leaf rollers are that the leaf surface is mesh-like and the leaves are rolled vertically, and the leaves are hidden inside the leaves to harm the plants. If there are a small number of them, you can manually remove the rolled leaves and pinch the insects to death. You can also use insecticide (same method as above) to spray for prevention and control.

3. Scale insects

The scale insects are covered with a thick wax layer, making them difficult to control with drugs. When a small number of scale insects occur in home gardening, you can use a toothbrush to gently brush them off, but be careful not to spill them into the pot. You can choose to spray the scale insects with a 750-1000 times diluted solution.

4. Whitefly

The eggs of lice are irregularly laid on the back of the leaves, rarely on the front, while the adults can spread within the plant or between plants for a short distance. The available pesticides include cypermethrin and cyprodinil, and the spraying can be done in the morning and evening.

There are several diseases and pests of jasmine

1. Vermilion spider mite

Commonly known as red spiders, they specialize in eating the juice of leaf and petal tissues. Other fungal and bacterial diseases can also be spread by red spiders. We need to increase humidity and lower temperature to regulate and control mite damage.

2. Greenhouse whitefly

Also called the white moth, it is a fungal disease that reproduces very quickly under high temperature conditions. Increase light and apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Reduce air humidity and pay attention to strengthening ventilation. At home, you can use mashed onion skins and spray with water or diluted pepper water.

3. Frost moth. The adult has a gray-brown head and dark gray body and wings. The larvae feed on the epidermis of plant leaves, causing notches and holes on the leaves. They may even eat all the leaves, leaving only the main veins and branches. The mature larvae build chambers in the soil to pupate, so the soil must be turned over. Larvae are easily frightened and fall, so they should be shot down when they occur. Take advantage of the phototaxis of hawk moth adults. Use black light or frequency-vibration insecticidal lamps to lure and kill adults during the outbreak period. We must protect its natural enemies, such as mantises, wasps, cordyceps bees, beneficial birds, etc.

4. Leaf borer

One of the main pests of jasmine, it eats flowers, buds, twigs and new shoots. Usually, the leaves should be properly combed to facilitate ventilation.
