Why does it hurt to pee after sex?

Urethral pain is generally caused by infection due to our lack of attention to hygiene in our daily lives. Once the urethra is infected, it will cause various diseases in our body, which will seriously affect our physical and mental health. So, what is the cause of urethral pain after intercourse? Why does it hurt to urinate after sex?

Urinary pain refers to pain in the urethra, bladder and perineum when urinating. The pain level can be mild or severe, often feeling like a burning sensation, or as severe as a stabbing pain. Painful urination is common in urethritis, prostatitis, prostatic hyperplasia, seminal vesiculitis, cystitis, urethral stones, bladder tuberculosis, pyelonephritis, etc. According to the characteristics of urinary pain, it is helpful to establish the diagnosis of the disease.

(1) If there is noticeable pain at the beginning of urination or if urination is difficult, the disease is mostly at the urethral opening and is more common in acute urethritis.

(2) If there is pain at the end of urination and the patient cannot hold the urine, the disease is mostly in the bladder, which is often seen in acute cystitis.

(3) If there is significant pain at the end of urination, or if there is still pain after urination, or if there is a feeling of "empty pain", or if there is pain even without urination, the disease is mostly at the urethral opening or adjacent organs, such as bladder trigone inflammation, prostatitis, etc.

(4) Sudden cessation of urination accompanied by pain or urinary retention: common in bladder, urethral stones or urethral foreign bodies.

(5) Difficult urination accompanied by distension and pain: Older men are more likely to suffer from prostate hyperplasia, which can also be common in urethral stones.

(6) Stinging or burning pain when urinating: This is common in irritating inflammatory reactions, such as acute urethritis, cystitis, prostatitis, and pyelonephritis.

Urinary tract infection is a common disease caused by bacteria invading the urethra. It is common in married women and is mainly manifested by frequent urination, urgency, inability to hold urine, and painful urination. Clinically, it is found that some middle-aged and middle-aged women also have symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, inability to hold urine, and even painful urination, and the disease recurs frequently, and the treatment effect of urethral infection is not obvious. In fact, these patients do not suffer from urinary tract infection, which is medically called urethral syndrome or sterile cystitis.
