What are the symptoms of cervical problems?

At present, the incidence of cervicitis is continuing to increase. Symptoms of cervicitis in women include abnormal leucorrhea, irregular menstruation, or itching. In daily life, many people do not have much understanding of the symptoms of cervicitis, which leads to the inability to treat the symptoms in time and recover as soon as possible. So what are the symptoms of cervical problems?

Cervical disease

1. Excessive leucorrhea

Leucorrhea is often the clinical symptom of the disease. The discharge may be milky white or light yellow and may sometimes be thick or stained with blood.

2. Itching and pain in the vulva

The leucorrhea in the private parts of the vagina is very irritating and may cause secondary vulvitis or vaginitis, resulting in itching and pain in the private parts.

3. Pain in the lower abdomen and lumbar region

When the inflammation is severe, it can spread along the uterosacral cruciate ligament and the main cruciate ligament to cause pelvic connective tissue inflammation, causing pain in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral region accompanied by a feeling of falling.

4. Frequent urination or difficulty urinating

When the inflammation spreads to the trigone or around the bladder, frequent urination, urgency or difficulty urinating may occur.

5. Infertility

The viscous secretions are not conducive to the penetration of sperm, so severe cervicitis can cause infertility.

Symptoms of cervical cancer

In the early stages, cervical cancer has no related symptoms and no obvious clinical signs. It is no different from chronic cervicitis, and the cervix may even be smooth. In some patients with cervical cancer, the disease is located in the cervical canal, and the appearance of the cervix and vagina is normal, which can easily be overlooked and misdiagnosed or wrongly diagnosed. Once the patient develops symptoms, the key symptoms are the following.

(1) Vaginal bleeding

Young patients often present with contact bleeding, which occurs after sexual intercourse or gynecological examination. Bleeding may be more or less, depending on the size of the disease and the extent to which it invades the interstitial blood vessels. In the early stage, bleeding is small, but in the late stage, the disease is mostly manifested as excessive bleeding. If it invades large blood vessels, it may cause massive internal bleeding, which directly threatens the patient's life. Young patients may also experience symptoms such as prolonged menstruation, shortened cycle time, and increased menstrual volume. Elderly patients often present with a history of irregular vaginal bleeding after menopause. Generally, exophytic cancers bleed earlier and with more blood; internal cancers bleed later.

(2) Vaginal discharge

Patients often complain of increased vaginal discharge, which is milky white or thick, thinner like water or rice water, and has a fishy smell. In the late stage, due to the ulceration and death of cancerous tissue and secondary infection, there will be a lot of pus-like or millet soup-like foul-smelling secretions.

(3) Symptoms of terminal cancer

Secondary symptoms may occur depending on the extent of the disease. When the disease spreads to the pelvic connective tissue, pelvic wall, and compresses the urethra or the duodenum and lumbar vertebrae and compresses the nerves, the patient will complain of frequent urination, urgency, inability to hold urine, anal prolapse, constipation, anal prolapse, swelling and pain in the lower limbs, etc. In more serious cases, it can cause urethral obstruction and hydronephrosis, and eventually lead to uremia. In the late stages of the disease, patients develop cachexia.
