Why is the fetus active at night?

Fetal movement usually occurs in the fourth or fifth month of pregnancy. It is a manifestation of the fetus's activity in the uterus and is very common. Pregnant women should interact more with the fetus, which is better for the baby's development. So, is it normal for the fetus to move frequently at night? Why are fetal movements so active at night? Let's find out.

Why is it normal for the baby to move frequently at night?

1. After the meal, the mother's blood sugar level increases, and the fetus also absorbs enough nutrients and is relatively strong, so the fetal movement will become more frequent than before the meal.

2. When taking a bath, under the shower of warm water, the pregnant mother's blood circulation is smoother, and her mind and body are more relaxed. This happy mood will be passed on to the baby, so the fetal activities become more regular.

3. In the late pregnancy, the fetus can already hear the mother's voice. The fetus likes to communicate with parents in the form of conversation. Therefore, when the pregnant mother talks and chats to the fetus during rest at night, the fetus will respond and express his feelings in the form of regular fetal movements.

4. When the fetus hears familiar music, it will also become more fond of exercise, which is a way for the fetus to express happiness.

5. Tire

In the late pregnancy, there is a history of fetal movement at night. Sometimes the fetal movement is relatively less during the day. This situation is normal. The fetus likes to move around at night, or the pregnant woman is less active at night and is more sensitive to the fetus's movements in the uterine cavity, which may be the reason for frequent fetal movements at night. However, the relatively few fetal movements during the day should also be limited. If the fetal movement count is less than 3-5 times per hour, or the fetal movement count for 1 hour each in the morning, noon and evening is summed up for 3 hours and multiplied by 4, that is, if the fetal movement count in 12 hours is less than 20 times, especially less than 10 times, this situation may be considered to cause fetal intrauterine hypoxia. Close observation or fetal heart rate monitoring is necessary to understand the movement of the fetus in the uterine cavity and whether intrauterine hypoxia occurs.
