Can a woman get pregnant with an IUD

There are many contraceptive methods nowadays. Some people choose to use contraceptive drugs, some choose to use condoms, and of course some people who want to achieve long-term contraceptive effects can choose IUDs, which is what we usually call contraceptive rings. This type of method is placed in the uterine cavity once and can provide contraceptive measures for many years. It is a simple, economical, safe and effective cross-fertilization method. However, many women don't know what to pay attention to after having an IUD inserted. Regarding this situation, experts from Beijing Guodu will introduce to you the common problems after having an IUD inserted.

Common problems after IUD insertion:

1. Take adequate rest and avoid heavy physical work. Generally, you need to rest for 1-2 days after the ring is placed, and you don't need to do heavy physical work within a week to prevent the ring from falling off and causing bleeding.

2. Pay attention to hygiene after inserting the IUD to prevent infection. After the IUD is placed, the vulva should be cleaned every day to keep it clean. There is no need to take a bath in a basin within 2 weeks, and there is no need to have sex within 2 weeks to prevent infection.

3. Pay attention to vaginal bleeding and the falling of the ring. If you find that the vaginal bleeding is heavy, more than twice the normal menstrual blood volume or the bleeding time is long, or the changes in the menstrual cycle are more obvious, you should go to the hospital for examination. During the first three months, you should also pay attention to whether the ring has fallen off.

4. Pay attention to regular maintenance after inserting the IUD. Generally, the first check-up after the placement of the ring is after the first menstruation, the second check-up is within 3-6 months after the placement of the ring, and the third check-up is a follow-up visit 12 months after the placement of the ring, and then a follow-up visit once a year.

Many people experience the IUD falling off after having it inserted, leading to pregnancy again. Of course, it is possible to get pregnant while wearing the IUD. Why does this happen? This is closely related to the size, position and whether the ring is disordered. Therefore, it is usually best to insert it 3 to 7 days after the menstrual period is over. Otherwise, it must be inserted after the pregnancy is ruled out. Those who have been pregnant with an IUD can switch to a copper IUD. Using it can affect the function of sperm and thus improve the effectiveness of contraceptive measures. Of course, even if the environment is perfect, it will not remain unchanged. If the placement period has expired, it needs to be replaced.
