When is the most accurate time for early pregnancy test?

Early pregnancy test strips are products used by women in daily life to check whether they are pregnant. A pregnancy test stick is also a product for determining whether a pregnancy is present. The basic principles of pregnancy detection are the same for both, so how long does it take for the early pregnancy test to be accurate?

It is generally recommended to conduct the test one week after the missed period to obtain more accurate results. During the day, it is strongly recommended to use morning urine for early pregnancy test, because the concentration in human urine is higher at this time, and it contains more human chorionic gonadotropin, so the early pregnancy test results are more accurate.

What should you pay attention to when using early pregnancy test strips

1. Pregnancy test strips are blood products for one-time use and cannot be reused.

2. After opening the aluminum-plastic bag, do not leave the pregnancy test paper in the air for too long to prevent moisture from making the test invalid.

3. When the HCG concentration is very high, the color of the test line may become lighter, which is normal.

4. If the person being tested suspects that she may be pregnant and the test result is negative, she can collect morning urine for measurement 48 hours later.

5. Some patients with endocrine diseases, tumors (including hydatidiform mole, choriocarcinoma, bronchial carcinoma, renal cancer, endometrial hyperplasia), etc. may have a positive result due to the high HCG content in their urine.

6. When uterine ectopic or abnormal pregnancy is suspected, other methods should be combined for diagnosis.

Causes of false positives in early pregnancy tests

1. Inspection time. HCG usually appears in the urine a few days after the embryo implants, and it must reach a certain amount to be detected. Therefore, for women with normal menstruation, HCG can only be detected in the urine after the menstruation is delayed. Women with long menstrual cycles or abnormal ovulation can only be detected after 40-44 days of amenorrhea.

2. Diluent in urine. Drinking too much water may dilute the urine and cause a false negative result.

3. Conducting experiments in the morning and at night may have a certain impact on the results. The highest HCG value is usually found in the urine in the morning, so many instructions recommend testing in the morning, but this is not absolute.

4. When testing, pay attention to the length of the pregnancy test paper that is immersed in urine. Sometimes the length of time that urine soaks into the test strip is too long to make the test result indistinguishable.
