Pregnancy is a very happy thing, but the moment of giving birth makes many pregnant women seem a little anxious, especially those mothers who have not given birth before the due date. So what is the reason why the due date has passed but the mother has not given birth yet? Let me share it with you today. 1. Determine the date of delivery When the pregnancy is approaching ten months, the pregnant woman can go to the hospital for delivery, and the doctor will re-determine the delivery date after examination. The doctor will find out when the last menstrual period came and recalculate the due date using the method of month - 3 and time 7. Because many women now have irregular menstrual cycles, or have long cycles, or even cannot remember clearly, the "menstrual period optimization algorithm" sometimes needs to be adjusted, or the CRL value of ultrasound can be used to further determine the due date, which is more accurate. Sometimes the pregnant woman miscalculates the due date without her own fault, so it is necessary to clarify it again. 2. Exercise more during pregnancy Pregnant women should exercise more during pregnancy, which is for the health of the fetus. If the fetus is not full-term, it may be related to exercise. Although the cause of post-term pregnancy is still unclear, most gynecologists believe that this is related to the physical fitness of the pregnant mother herself and whether she does appropriate exercise in the late pregnancy. Therefore, in the late pregnancy (especially after 37 weeks), if the prenatal check-up is normal (including fetal weight exceeding 2500 grams, the pregnant mother has no pregnancy complications, etc.), the pregnant mother should prepare for the upcoming delivery and can exercise more. What kind of fitness exercise is good for pregnant women during childbirth? 3. Fetal heart rate needs to be checked at 40-41 weeks When a pregnant woman is about to give birth, she needs to do close fetal heart rate monitoring and observe any abnormalities at all times. If you have reached the due date and are between 40-41 weeks of pregnancy, in addition to going to the hospital for a routine physical examination the next day, you should also check the baby's fetal movement in the morning, noon and evening every day. One hour each time, multiply the total of 3 hours by 4 to calculate the number of fetal movements in 12 hours. If the number is less than 10 times in 12 hours, it reminds the fetus to be hypoxic. The normal heart rate of the fetus is 120 to 160 beats/minute. A heart rate higher or lower than this value indicates fetal hypoxia. If the fetal heart rate is found to be less than 120 beats/minute, it may indicate fetal distress and you must go to the hospital immediately. Once the fetal heart rate is abnormal, whether fast or slow, it is risky and the fetal heart rate needs to be stabilized. 4. You can induce the birth of a baby at 41 weeks of pregnancy If there is no sign of labor after one week after ten months of pregnancy, preparations should be made to induce labor. Inducing labor can be said to be the last resort for pregnant women who want natural childbirth. In the past, obstetricians believed that doctors would only induce labor for normal mothers after 42 weeks. However, medical science has found that after 42 weeks, the pregnant woman's embryo may have become fragile (48% of people are already at the third stage), its function is getting worse, and the amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman is getting less and less. In fact, the effect of inducing labor at this time is not good. Therefore, now as long as the baby has not given birth after 40 weeks, induction of labor can be performed. It is normal for pregnant women to give birth within one week after the due date, but if it is later, induction of labor is required to avoid harm to the fetus. Pregnant women should know that they cannot eat or drink before induction of labor, and they need to get up and sleep several hours in advance to allow the stomach and intestines to be clean. This is all for the health of the fetus to avoid vomiting during induction of labor and affecting the delivery process. |
