What should girls pay attention to when they have their first menstruation?

A normal girl will have menstruation when she reaches puberty, which is more than 10 years older than him. The normal period should be between 13 and 14 years old. When menstruation just starts, girls need to pay attention to protecting themselves to avoid infection. They need to take some precautions. At the same time, they need to pay attention to what to eat more and what to eat less during menstruation. Not only that, there are also many precautions to know when washing the body.

When girls reach a certain age, they will have uterine bleeding every month, which is called menstruation. The first menstruation is called menarche, which mostly occurs at the age of 13 to 14. In recent years, the age of menarche has tended to be earlier, and some girls start menstruating at the age of 9 to 10. After menarche, menstruation occurs at regular intervals, which is called a "menstrual cycle". The interval between one menstrual period and the next is generally 28 to 30 days. But the length of time varies from person to person, and 20 to 40 days is normal. Each menstrual period lasts for about 4 to 5 days.

Since the ovarian function has not yet fully matured during adolescence, menstruation may be irregular for a period of time after menarche, and regular menstruation will only occur after half a year to a year. The menstrual volume is 50 to 60 ml, with a minimum of 20 ml and a maximum of up to 100 ml. If your menstrual flow is too heavy, you should go to the hospital for treatment. During the menstrual period, some girls experience back pain, abdominal distension, and even stomach pain. They also have symptoms such as fatigue, drowsiness, and irritability. This is normal. However, due to the reduced resistance during menstruation, the shedding of the endometrium, the wounds in the uterus, and the dilution of the acidic secretions in the vagina by menstrual blood, it is easy to cause infection, so you must pay attention to hygiene during menstruation:

(1) Change menstrual pads frequently.

(2) Clean the vulva with warm water every day. Do not take a bath in a tub to prevent dirty water from entering the vagina and causing infection.

(3) After urinating or defecating, wipe from front to back to avoid bringing bacteria from the anus to the vulva.

(4) Eat less raw, cold or irritating foods, such as chili peppers, alcohol, etc.

(5) Drink plenty of water to keep bowel movements smooth.

(6) Ensure adequate sleep.

(7) Avoid strenuous exercise or heavy physical labor to prevent pelvic congestion, excessive menstrual bleeding or prolonged menstruation, and thus affect your health.

(8) Avoid getting cold, especially taking a cold shower or washing your feet, or sitting on a cold floor, as this can cause blood vessels to constrict and lead to dysmenorrhea.

(9) Maintain an optimistic and stable mood.
