Can Bartholinitis Heal On Its Own?

Can Bartholinitis Heal On Its Own?

Bartholinitis is a disease that women of childbearing age are prone to. The main cause is infection with Staphylococcus, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus and Enterococcus. After the disease occurs, there are local symptoms such as redness, swelling, heat and pain. The vulva is swollen, accompanied by a burning sensation and severe pain, which makes the patient uneasy. So, can Bartholinitis heal itself? Let’s take a look below.

Bartholinitis is an inflammation caused by pathogens such as Staphylococcus, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, and Enterococcus invading the Bartholin's gland. Bartholinitis usually occurs on one side, and when the inflammation gradually worsens, an abscess is formed. The diameter of the abscess can reach three to six centimeters. When the pressure inside the abscess gradually increases, the skin on the surface becomes thinner and the abscess will burst on its own. If the hole is large, it may drain on its own, and the inflammation will subside quickly and heal.

So Bartholinitis may also heal on its own. However, if the hole is small and the drainage is not smooth, the inflammation may continue to occur and acute attacks may occur. In this case, treatment is still needed and you need to go to the hospital for incision and drainage surgery or puncture surgery, place a drainage strip, and use antibiotics at the same time.

How to treat Bartholinitis with medication

1. Antibiotics. Antibiotics are one of the common drugs for treating Bartholinitis. The occurrence of Bartholinitis is mainly caused by the increase of bacteria in the body. However, antibiotics can effectively prevent the growth of bacteria, thereby effectively alleviating the symptoms of Bartholinitis.

2. Potassium permanganate solution. To relieve the symptoms of Bartholinitis, we can also use potassium permanganate solution to clean the private parts in our daily life. However, it should be noted that the potassium permanganate solution needs to be mixed with water in proportion, so that the symptoms of Bartholinitis can be effectively relieved.

3. Chinese patent medicine. There are two Chinese patent medicines for the treatment of Bartholinitis. One is Longdan Xiegan Pills, which has the effect of clearing away heat and detoxifying, and can effectively relieve the symptoms of Bartholinitis. The second is Huanglian Jiedu Pills, which also has the effect of clearing away heat and detoxifying, and can also relieve the symptoms of Bartholinitis to a certain extent.
