What to do if pregnant women have a runny nose? Quick solution

Pregnant women usually have a runny nose mainly because of catching a cold or catching a cold. Because pregnancy is a very special period, the appearance of these symptoms not only makes pregnant women uncomfortable, but the key is that they are afraid that it will affect the development of the fetus. Therefore, many pregnant women hope to adopt good methods to eliminate these symptoms as soon as possible. So, what are the quick and effective ways to treat runny nose in pregnant women? Let’s take a closer look below.

1. Wash clothes with hot water

If someone in your home has a cold, wash clothes and bed sheets in hot water to help kill germs.

2. Eat less sugar

Studies have found that when volunteers eat 100g of sugar, the phagocytes in the immune system will reduce their phagocytosis of bacteria within 5 hours. So cut back on sugar and give your immune system a fighting chance!

3. Get 8 hours of sleep

If you sleep less than 7 hours a day, your chances of catching a cold will increase three times. Experts at Yale University have found that sleep disorders or lack of sleep can affect the activity of the immune system.

4. Wash your hands frequently

If your hands are very dirty, simply using hand sanitizer (unless the alcohol content is 60-80%) will not achieve the desired sterilization effect. Wash your hands frequently with soap after returning home from outside.

5. Wash your nose with salt water

Salt can help prevent colds by preventing bacteria from taking up residence in the nasal cavity.

6. Exercise appropriately

Gentle, appropriate exercise can enhance immunity. It should be noted that exercise should not be too intense, as it will reduce immunity.

7. Hot compress

Apply a hot towel to your nose, or use a hair dryer to blow hot air into your nostrils, blowing on both sides of the temples, Fengchi acupoints, and Dazhui acupoints, and the nasal congestion can be relieved.

8. Press Yingxiang acupoint

The Yingxiang point is located on the outer edge of the nose, that is, when the eyes are looking straight ahead, directly below the center of the eyeball, in the smile lines about 1/2 the width of the thumb on both sides of the nostrils. You can use the index and middle fingers of both hands to press and rub or gently push the Yingxiang acupoint left and right at the same time. Usually 10 to 20 times will be effective.
