When a woman becomes pregnant unexpectedly, abortion is an option. Abortion is now divided into medical abortion and surgical abortion. Generally speaking, medical abortion is easier to perform, but sometimes it is not very clean. If the abortion is not complete, it can easily lead to gynecological diseases, so when you choose medical abortion, you need to go to the hospital for a follow-up examination. The follow-up examination is very simple, just a B-ultrasound examination is enough. Abortion refers to the termination of pregnancy through surgery, which is also called "artificial" termination of pregnancy. Modern abortion surgical methods include vacuum aspiration and curettage. Vacuum aspiration is a procedure in which a hollow straw is inserted into the uterine cavity to suck out the embryonic tissue in the uterus through negative pressure, while curettage is a procedure in which an oval forceps is used to clamp out large pieces of embryonic tissue in the uterus. Abortion can be performed before 14 weeks of pregnancy. You should be observed for 2 hours after the abortion, paying attention to vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain. If there is no reaction, you can go home. You need to rest for 2 weeks after an abortion, prevent colds and chills, and eat more nutritious food to restore your body to normal as soon as possible. For a period of time after an abortion, the trauma on the endometrium has not yet healed, the cervical opening has relaxed, the original mucus plug in the cervix (which prevents bacteria from entering the uterine cavity) has been removed, and a new mucus plug has not yet formed. If you do not pay attention to the hygiene of the vulva at this time, bacteria in the vagina can easily enter the uterine cavity and cause infection. Therefore, after an abortion, you should keep the vulva clean and hygienic, wash it with warm water 1-2 times a day, and change menstrual pads and straw paper frequently. Do not take a sitz bath within 2 weeks or before vaginal bleeding has stopped, and avoid sexual intercourse within 1 month to prevent genital organ infection. If you have fever, abdominal pain, or vaginal discharge with an unusual odor, it may be caused by infection and you should seek medical attention immediately. After the placenta is separated during abortion, there may be a small amount of bleeding on the wound left on the uterine wall. In this case, as the uterus contracts and the wound repairs, vaginal bleeding will gradually stop within 3-5 days and will not exceed 10-15 days at most. If the amount of vaginal bleeding exceeds the amount of menstrual blood and lasts too long, you need to seek medical treatment promptly. |
