Pregnant women with frequent urination, male or female

It is possible to tell whether the baby is a boy or a girl after five months of pregnancy, but this requires medical methods, which is not allowed by the country. Therefore, many people infer based on some behaviors of pregnant women. Does frequent urination of pregnant women have anything to do with whether the baby is a boy or a girl? In fact, it is normal for pregnant women to urinate frequently, and every pregnant woman has this physiological phenomenon. It cannot be used to determine whether the baby is a boy or a girl. The most important thing is to ensure health.

Is it true that a pregnant woman with frequent urination will give birth to a boy or a girl?

Frequent urination during pregnancy is the most common phenomenon during pregnancy. This is mainly because the mother's metabolic products increase after pregnancy, and the baby's metabolic products also need to be excreted by the mother, which greatly increases the workload of the kidneys and increases urine volume. In addition, in the early and late stages of pregnancy, the enlarged uterus or the descending fetal head compresses the bladder, reducing the bladder capacity, causing an increase in the frequency of urination and a feeling of not being able to finish urinating. This is called frequent urination. Almost all expectant mothers have frequent urination, which has nothing to do with whether the baby is a boy or a girl. Expectant mothers, please do not listen to rumors.

How to predict the gender of the baby

1. Determine the gender of the fetus by its heart rate: girls have a higher heart rate than boys. This is only true when they are just born. There is no difference in the fetal heart rate between boys and girls. Therefore, it is not reliable to determine the gender of the baby based on the fetal heart rate; it is still a matter of probability.

2. Check the gender of the fetus by B-ultrasound: Medically speaking, it is easy to tell the gender of the fetus when doing B-ultrasound examination around 20 weeks (four months) of pregnancy. Of course, the premise is that the doctor doing the B-ultrasound can see the key parts. If it is a boy, the accuracy will be higher (about 95%); if it is a girl, it will be lower (about 85% accuracy). Therefore, B-ultrasound is not as reliable as people imagine. It is not the ultrasound machine that determines the gender of the baby, but the doctor standing behind the machine.

3. Chorionic villus sampling to determine the gender of the fetus: Chorionic villus sampling can determine the chromosome status of the fetus. If there are 22 pairs of autosomal chromosomes plus a pair of sex chromosomes xy, it means it is a boy. If there are 22 pairs of autosomal chromosomes plus a pair of sex chromosomes xx, it means it is a girl. Chorionic villus sampling, if performed with skilled techniques, has a success rate of 97% and can be performed at 10 to 12 weeks, relatively early than amniocentesis.

4. Amniocentesis to determine the gender of the fetus: cells are extracted directly from the amniotic fluid, and chromosome examination is performed to identify the gender of the fetus. If the sex chromosome composition of the amniotic fluid cell is XX, it is a girl; if it is XY, it is a boy. Amniocentesis can be performed between 18 and 20 weeks of gestation with an accuracy of about 98%.

5. Blood test to determine gender: a method of determining the gender of the fetus based on the fetal DNA fragments in the mother's blood. After 7 weeks of pregnancy, the mother's blood is used to detect whether the fetus has a Y chromosome. If it does, it is a boy; if not, it is a girl. This method is prohibited in the country, and only a few countries or regions are allowed to use this technology.
