1 Is endometrial polyp surgery painful?

It won't hurt much. Endometrial polypectomy is only a minor operation compared to other gynecological operations. You won't feel any pain during the entire operation after the anesthesia is injected. But it will be a little painful when the anesthesia is injected. However, most people can tolerate this pain.

2 Types of surgery for endometrial polyps

1. For patients with obvious clinical symptoms after hysteroscopic resection, patients with intrauterine vegetation found by B-ultrasound, or patients whose intrauterine vegetation cannot completely exclude the possibility of malignancy, surgical treatment is recommended.

2. Radical surgery For patients over 40 years old, if bleeding symptoms are obvious, the above treatment cannot eradicate them or they recur frequently, total hysterectomy may be considered.

3 Endometrial polyp surgery process

1. Dilate the cervix.

2. Hysteroscopy is used to understand the size and attachment site of polyps.

3. Clamp the polyp pedicle under hysteroscopy and rotate it to remove it or remove it with an electric knife under hysteroscopy.

4. If there is bleeding at the pedicle, use gauze to pack and apply pressure to stop the bleeding and remove it after 24 hours.

4 Precautions after endometrial polyp surgery

1. Prevention of pain: Patients may experience varying degrees of pain after surgery. Advise them to relax, as the pain can usually be relieved on its own. If it cannot be relieved, analgesics can be given.

2. Routine care is to lie flat without a pillow for 6 hours to avoid raising the head too early, which may cause cerebrospinal fluid to seep out of the meningeal cavity from the puncture site, resulting in low intracranial pressure and headache.

3. Observe the urination situation and supervise, guide and assist the patient to urinate early. For those who really have difficulty urinating, induced urination can be given and catheterization can be performed when necessary.

4. Pay attention to cleaning. Pay attention to local hygiene after the operation and keep the perineum clean. It is recommended to take a shower instead of a bath to avoid infection. Sexual intercourse is prohibited within two weeks after the operation to avoid infection.

5. Pay attention to diet. After endometrial polyp surgery, patients can eat nutritious soft food. After the surgery, they should also avoid eating spicy, raw, cold and other irritating foods.
