What are the physical discomforts caused by cervical cancer?

Patients with cervical cancer will experience physical discomfort, especially cervical erosion and abnormal leucorrhea, and cervical cancer will affect women's uterus and menstrual regularity. Therefore, for patients with cervical cancer, when they feel unwell, we should use medication to control it in time. If you find any of the following symptoms in your body, you need to go to the hospital for examination in time.

1. Waist and abdominal symptoms. When a woman is diagnosed with cervical cancer, the first symptoms to appear are abnormalities in the waist and abdomen. Patients often experience pain in the lower abdomen, lumbar spine and other parts of the body. This pain is not severe and is within the tolerance level of most women. In addition, some patients will also find a more obvious lump in the abdomen.

2. Changes in leucorrhea. We found that patients with early-stage cervical cancer would experience varying degrees of changes in leucorrhea. Common types may include increased vaginal discharge, yellow vaginal discharge, viscous vaginal discharge, bloody vaginal discharge, etc.

3. Abnormalities of the urinary system. As the tumor continues to grow, it puts more and more pressure on the patient's internal body, and this pressure is mostly manifested in the urinary system. Therefore, after suffering from cervical cancer, most patients will experience abnormal symptoms such as painful urination, frequent urination, and urgency.

4. Other symptoms. Because the actual situation of each patient is different, the early symptoms of different uterine cancer patients will also be slightly different. These symptoms are mostly manifested as secretion of purulent substances, congestion of the urethral opening, congestion of the vaginal opening, pain and bleeding when the cervix is touched. During specific examinations in the hospital, obvious lesions can also be found in the patient's body.

Complications after radiotherapy for cervical cancer

1. Urinary system complications: The most common urinary system complications after radiotherapy for cervical cancer are radiation cystitis, with an incidence of 2-10%, and vesicovaginal fistula, with an incidence of about 1-3%. In some cases, pelvic fibrosis may cause ureteral obstruction and lead to varying degrees of renal dysfunction.

2. Intestinal complications: including radiation proctitis, sigmoiditis, rectovaginal fistula, intestinal adhesion, intestinal obstruction, intestinal perforation, etc., with proctitis being the most common. The degree of skills can be divided into three levels: light, medium and heavy. Mild symptoms include a small amount of blood in the stool and abdominal discomfort; moderate symptoms include repeated large amounts of blood in the stool, bloody and mucous stools, and tenesmus. When there is a large amount of blood in the stool without tenesmus, it may be sigmoid colitis; in severe cases, the symptoms are more serious and can cause intestinal ulcers, stenosis, intestinal fistula, etc.; the incidence of long-term intestinal complications is 10% to 20%, and the incidence of fistula is 1% to 5%.

3. Others: Patients after radiotherapy may experience varying degrees of vaginal stenosis due to fibrosis, and elderly women are more prone to atresia. In addition, venous and lymphatic obstruction caused by fibrosis may cause lower limb edema. The literature also reports that many years after radiotherapy for cervical cancer, uterine sarcoma and endometrial cancer occur, among which mixed mesodermal tumors are particularly common.

Cervical cancer is a disease that needs to be treated correctly. For most female friends, professional treatment will not affect their health, so I hope everyone can deal with this problem scientifically.
