What is follicle aging?

Ovarian follicles are a relatively common problem. When this problem occurs, women's health will be greatly affected. The biggest impact is that it will cause women to be unable to conceive normally. There are many reasons that lead to follicular aging, the most common of which is age. In addition, uterine diseases, unbalanced diet, and excessive stress can also lead to problems with follicle aging!

1. Causes of egg aging

The most primitive cells of the egg are stored in the female body at birth and no new ones will be produced afterwards. Therefore, as age increases, the eggs will gradually be damaged by the outside world and become aged. In addition, diseases of the ovaries and uterus, environmental pollution, excessive mental stress, unbalanced diet and lifestyle, cold body and smoking habits will accelerate the aging of eggs. Since aging eggs cannot become younger, knowing how to keep them in good condition is essential to a successful pregnancy.

2. Symptoms of egg aging

1. Infertility: The main characteristic of egg aging is that it causes problems for fertility. That is, the zona pellucida covering the egg will become thicker over time, thereby blocking the entry of sperm and causing a decrease in the chance of fertilization.

2. Fetal malformation or miscarriage: Aging eggs still have the ability to be fertilized for a few hours. If they encounter vigorous sperm, they can also be fertilized. However, most of these fertilized eggs die during development, causing fetal arrest or miscarriage. Another hypothesis, the aging egg hypothesis, suggests that an older woman is more likely to conceive a child with a chromosomal abnormality because her eggs degenerate as she approaches the end of her reproductive years.

3. How to delay egg aging and improve egg quality

1. Don’t smoke or drink. Gynecologists point out that the toxins in cigarettes not only harm eggs, but also cause ovarian aging. The results of the study showed that in terms of ovarian function, a 35-year-old female smoker is almost the same as a 42-year-old non-smoker, and it is smoking that leads to a decline in female fertility. Long-term alcohol abuse can also lead to ovarian aging.

2. Don’t stay up late and maintain a regular schedule. If you often stay up late and your daily routine is disrupted, your body's biological clock will also be disrupted, which will directly affect the balance of the endocrine environment. The imbalance of hormone secretion can cause ovarian dysfunction, affecting the development, maturation and ovulation of eggs.

3. Stand up and walk around often. Sitting still for a long time is most detrimental to the blood circulation in the pelvis. If you can't exercise regularly, take every opportunity to get up and walk around.
