Why does a girl's urethra itch?

Women will have many gynecological diseases, and once gynecological diseases occur, they are difficult to eradicate. They usually occur several times a year and sometimes cause other complications. There are reasons for female urethral itching, among which urethritis cannot be ruled out, because it is the most common and mildest disease. In addition, urinary tract infection, urethral cancer and bladder problems are also included. Therefore, women must find the cause of urethral itching.

Urethra cancer in women

Primary urethral tumors are rare clinically. Women have shorter urethras, but the incidence of urethral cancer is higher than that of men. It is common in people aged 40 to 60 years old. Malignant tumors include cancer, sarcoma, melanoma, etc. Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common pathological classification, accounting for about 40%. The second largest group was transitional cell carcinoma, accounting for 30%; adenocarcinoma, accounting for 23%; and undifferentiated carcinoma, accounting for 1%. Symptoms such as urethral bleeding, frequent urination, urgency, and pain when urinating may occur in the early stages. As the tumor grows, it can also cause difficulty urinating. It is difficult to treat and the prognosis is poor.

There are no special and effective preventive measures for female urethral cancer. Changing bad lifestyles and paying attention to personal hygiene are the keys to prevention.

Urethritis and bladder in women

Elderly women are prone to lower urinary tract infections, and there are many predisposing factors:

1. The external opening of a woman's urethra is close to the vaginal opening and anus, and is easily contaminated by vaginal secretions (in case of vaginitis and cervicitis) and feces;

2. Due to the decline of ovarian function, the estrogen level in the body decreases, and the urethral epithelium, which is also affected by the action of estrogen, atrophies and changes, and the defense ability is greatly weakened, making it easy for bacteria to invade;

3. Women's urethra is naturally straight, wide and short, with a length of only 3 to 4 centimeters. Once bacteria invade, they can easily ascend from the woman's urethra and enter the bladder.

4. As age increases, the structure and function of the bladder change, and urination is often difficult and incomplete. Residual urine is a good culture medium for bacterial growth and reproduction.
