1. How to check for vaginitis?

If there is increased vaginal discharge, vulvar itching, or an unusual odor or color of discharge, vaginitis is suspected. First, a gynecological examination is required. The vagina is opened with a speculum to determine whether the vaginal mucosa has inflammatory reactions such as congestion and edema, whether there are any growths, the nature of the secretions, and whether there is local inflammation of the cervix. Take secretions from the posterior fornix for routine examination of leucorrhea. If necessary, it is recommended to do tests for mycoplasma and chlamydia. Based on the results, the pathogenic bacteria of the infection can be understood clinically and targeted medication can be given for treatment. You are not allowed to have sexual intercourse during the medication period, and it is recommended to keep the vulva clean at all times.

2. Drug treatment of vaginitis

Metronidazole, tinidazole, and clindamycin can be used to treat bacterial vaginosis; miconazole suppositories and fluconazole can be used to treat candidal vaginitis; metronidazole can be used for the initial treatment of Trichomonas vaginitis. If side effects are found, the drug should be discontinued and drinking is prohibited during medication. Estrogen can be supplemented for senile vaginitis.

3. Dietary recommendations

It is advisable to eat more yogurt rich in active Lactobacillus acidophilus and more foods rich in complex carbohydrates. It is advisable to eat more yogurt containing rich active Lactobacillus acidophilus, such as bifidobacterium yogurt, soy oligosaccharides, etc.; eat more complex carbohydrate foods, such as whole grains, whole wheat, brown rice and vegetables.
