Is it normal to not see an embryo at 5 weeks of pregnancy?

When a woman becomes pregnant, what she is most concerned about is the fetus in her belly. People very much hope that their baby can spend ten months safely in their belly and then be born smoothly. Normally, people pay more attention to the early stages of pregnancy because the fetus is not yet stable at this time and people are afraid that something might go wrong. Some people find that no embryo is seen at five weeks of pregnancy during examination. Is this normal?

Is it normal to have no embryo at 5 weeks of pregnancy?

Under normal circumstances, the embryo can be seen in the 6th to 7th week of pregnancy, which is more than 50 days after the menstruation stops. At this time, the embryo can be seen during examination. After 49 days of pregnancy, the mother can not only see the embryo through B-ultrasound examination, but also see obvious heart tube pulsation, which is basically in a human form.

Therefore, if the embryo and fetal cardiovascular pulsation are not seen by the eighth week, you should consider whether it is a problem of fetal growth retardation. Of course, if the pregnant mother is still worried, she can go to the hospital for a check-up a week later. If it is within five weeks, it is within the normal range and there is no need to worry too much.

What if no embryo is found during pregnancy test?

1. The germ is too small to be seen. Because some pregnant women have a longer menstrual cycle, coupled with the influence of factors such as irregular menstruation, it is easy for the timing of pregnancy to deviate a little. Therefore, if the embryo has not been found by about 7 weeks of pregnancy, it is very likely that the pregnancy is relatively short and the embryo has not yet developed well. It is recommended to go for a check-up again after a week.

2. Fetal growth retardation. If the embryo does not develop well, B-ultrasound will show the presence of a gestational sac but no embryo or fetal heartbeat, and will be accompanied by vaginal bleeding. If the embryo is not seen for a long time, abortion should be considered.

In fact, as long as the pregnant woman is pregnant under normal circumstances, there is no need to worry. During pregnancy, do not do things that are harmful to the baby and your own body, especially smoking and drinking. Also, do not do strenuous exercise to avoid miscarriage. At the same time, the diet should be nutritionally balanced so that the baby can absorb the nutrients and grow up healthily.
